Data Center

Data Center turns compute into a real SkyBlock resource: build server Racks, power and cool them, then route compute over a bandwidth-limited cable network to Synthesizers for materials or Mining Rigs/Hosting Racks for real crypto income

What's new

One calendar for all mods. With Tycoon Calendar installed (optional), Data Center now runs entirely on the shared world calendar - its start and its pace - so the date in the Shop, on the terminals and in /datacenter date is the date every other mod shows, whatever year the world was created in. Without Tycoon Calendar nothing changes: the calendar starts on 2008-12-31 and calendar.fictionalDaysPerMcDay sets the pace, exactly as before.

  • A world that starts before Bitcoin has no Bitcoin yet: no price, no difficulty, no block reward and no mining until the real first block (2009-01-03); every other coin waits for its own. Hardware comes out on its real release date. The Mining Rig and the Trading Terminal go on sale on 2008-12-31; the mod's own blocks, consumables and partner-mod machines are for sale from the first day of any world.
  • A world that starts later begins part-way into the history: prices, difficulty and the Shop are those of its start date.
  • Existing worlds do not move. A world that already ran with Tycoon Calendar starts on 2008-12-31, as Data Center always did, and keeps its date to the tick.
  • The server now tells a client the world's start (new optional packet datacenter:calendar_start), also when it changes while running. With Tycoon Calendar and a start other than 2008-12-31, clients need this version - an older client counts from 2008-12-31 and shows the wrong date. Servers without Tycoon Calendar (the public one) are unaffected; old and new clients mix freely. An older client joining such a world gets a line in chat asking to update.
  • When an operator moves the world's start forward (/kalender start), the News skip the years jumped over instead of announcing them all at once.
  • Changing Tycoon Calendar's config before a world first runs with it sets that world's start and pace; a world whose calendar did not start on 2008-12-31 moves once, to the shared date. With Tycoon Calendar's defaults (2008-12-31, 12 days per Minecraft day) nothing moves. A server running Data Center at another pace (e.g. 24) must set the same calendar.daysPerMcDay in Tycoon Calendar before adding it, or its date falls back.
  • /datacenter date <date> and the season end (SkyWorlds) count from the world's start; at a pace 24,000 does not divide by, /datacenter date now lands on the asked-for day instead of a tick before it.
  • Needs Tycoon Calendar with the start per world (2026-09-26 or later); an older one is still followed for the pace only, and the log says so once.
