What's new
[1.2.0] - 2026-09-06
Note for existing worlds: the Rack, Mining Rig, Hosting Rack, Miner Simulation, both Synthesizers and the Server no longer have crafting recipes - they are shop purchases now (see Removed). Blocks already placed or in a chest are unaffected; only the recipes are gone.
Added
Partner Vendors: the Shop's "Energy Infrastructure" tile is now a "Partner Vendors" tile that opens a second menu of supplier mods - Mekanism, Solar Flux, Applied Energistics, Create and Modern Industrialization - each with its own storefront of that mod's entry-level components. Everything the old Energy Infrastructure category sold is still there at the same price, filed under Mekanism and Solar Flux
Applied Energistics storefront sells all four Inscriber Presses. In this pack they were previously impossible to obtain at all: the only recipe that makes a press requires a press, and their one real source is a meteorite, which a SkyBlock world has no world generation for - so AE2's entire processor line, and every storage cell with it, was unreachable no matter how much Compute you had
New storefront lines beyond the presses: AE2 (ME Drive, ME Terminal, Inscriber, Charger, Energy Acceptor, 1k/4k Storage Cells, Fluix Cable, Quartz Fiber), Create (the andesite tier - shafts, cogwheels, casing, belts, Water Wheel, Encased Fan, Millstone, Mechanical Press/Mixer, Wrench, Goggles), Modern Industrialization (the bronze/steam tier - Forge Hammer, Bronze Furnace/Boiler/Macerator/Compressor, LV Steam Turbine, Steam Mining Drill, pipes, Analog Circuit), and Mekanism's tier-1 machines (Enrichment Chamber, Crusher, Metallurgic Infuser, Energized Smelter, Electric Pump, Configurator, transporter/pipe)
The Server is now a real 3D item: a 1U blade with a faceplate (drive sleds, power button, vent grille, LED cluster), a vented lid and a rear with PSU modules and I/O ports, shown in hand, on the ground and in every GUI slot instead of the old flat sprite
The Rack, Mining Rig and Hosting Rack are all now open-fronted cabinets with five visible bays. A bay that holds a Server shows that exact blade slid into the rack; an empty bay is empty. Each installed blade carries live status LEDs on its faceplate: green power plus flickering disk and network activity lights while it is earning, dim amber standby when it is installed but not running (no power, no PSU or CPU), and a blinking red fault light while the rack recovers from a crash. Every blade blinks on its own rhythm, so a full rack never lights up in lockstep
All six Simulation blocks (Miner, Nether, Terrain, Mob Farm, Animal Farm, Radiation) now share a real 3D "Simulation Node" chassis in the same style as the rack cabinets: a front bezel around a lit screen showing what that node simulates (an ore vein, a lava-lit Nether cave, a soil cross-section, a spawner in the dark, a pasture with animals, a hazard-striped trefoil), a fan well sunk into the top, vented sides and a port panel on the back. Each simulator carries its own accent-coloured LED strip on the bezel
Simulation Nodes are animated while they run: the top fan spins whenever Compute is arriving and stops when it isn't, the bezel LED strip breathes in the node's accent colour, and the screen shows a progress bar gliding toward the next roll plus a scan line sweeping down the display
Server Room Door and Server Room Hatch: a steel door with a wire-mesh viewing window, card reader and kick plate, plus a perforated raised-floor hatch. Both open by hand and sound like metal
Crafting recipes for the whole decorative set. The plain panel is the base material (3 iron ingots + 3 smooth stone gives 6), a vented panel is a panel plus iron bars, a cable tray panel is a panel plus a Y(ST)Y cable, and doors and hatches are built from panels in the same shapes vanilla uses for its own. Buying them stays the fast path; crafting is there when you would rather spend materials than money
Server Room Panel, Vented Server Room Panel and Cable Tray Panel: plain decorative building blocks in the machines' own steel-and-teal palette, so a room built around a Rack looks like it belongs to the same product line. Sold for 25-60 cents - scenery should never compete with hardware for your money
A working machine now casts a coloured pool of light onto the floor in front of it, pulsing with its own lights - green for a Rack, red while one is recovering from a crash, and each Simulation Node's own accent colour. This is the closest the mod can get to a room that blinks in colour: Minecraft's light engine has no colour channels, so real emitted light is always white no matter what the lights look like. With a shader pack the additive lights also pick up bloom for free; genuinely coloured lighting additionally needs the pack's own block list to know these blocks
Every server blade now carries six drive-activity lights, one per drive sled, each flickering on its own rhythm so no two blades in a rack ever pulse together - and a thin line of light escapes the slot under each running blade. Five of those stacked is what makes a rack recognisable from across a dark room, where individual LEDs are too small to read
Status lights now genuinely glow. The server blades' LEDs and the Simulation Nodes' accent strips are drawn additively - the same technique enderman eyes use - so they read as light sources in a dark room instead of just bright pixels, and they keep their colours
Enchantment Downloader: a Compute-powered enchanting machine. Put in a tool, armor piece or book, pick any enchantment it can carry from the list - treasure enchantments like Mending included - choose the level, and it downloads exactly that for a Compute price. No lapis, no XP levels, no random roll. Upgrading an existing enchantment charges only the difference; curses are never offered; conflicting enchantments are refused up front. Shares the Simulation Nodes' chassis and animation with a violet accent, sold in the Shop under Facility
Real supply caps for every coin that has one: Bitcoin (21,000,000), Litecoin (84,000,000) and Kaspa (28,704,026,601). Bitcoin and Litecoin now keep halving on their real ~4-year cadence past the last real halving instead of paying the 2024 subsidy forever, until the subsidy rounds to zero - which is how the real protocols enforce their caps. Monero's main-emission cap (~18.4M) is recorded; its tail emission is deliberately unbounded, as in the real coin
Room Fan can now be mounted in all six orientations - floor and ceiling as well as walls. The intake always ends up facing whoever placed it, so stand in the room, look at the surface, place
Room Fan blades visibly spin while the fan is moving heat, faster the higher the overclock, and stand still when it isn't - a fan doing nothing now looks like it
Log Buyer: right-click it empty-handed and it reads its price board in chat
Room Fan GUI now shows what each side opens into (sealed room / open air / large interior / BLOCKED), so a fan that does nothing says why
AE2 storefront: ME Import Bus, ME Export Bus and Acceleration Card - the pieces that actually move items in and out of an ME network, which the rest of the AE2 section had no equivalent for
Changed
- Four more blocks got real 3D models in the same style as the racks and nodes: the Shop is a kiosk terminal (plinth with a dispense tray, terminal body, a lit screen tilted back, keypad and card reader); the Workbench is a proper assembly bench (steel legs, anti-static mat, drawer unit, a lamp arm, and a half-assembled server blade lying on the mat); the Log Buyer is a timber counter with a chalkboard price list, a dial scale and a log stack, and now faces the way it was placed; the Room Fan is an open duct with finger guards on both openings and a motor hub inside
- The Shop has been rebuilt as a storefront: a sidebar of eight sections (Processors, Graphics, Memory, Power, Boards, Mining, Facility, Partners) with Wallet, Sell and Reorder underneath, and a content pane where each section's categories are tabs above a sortable, filterable list. Every list row now shows the numbers you actually compare - compute, hashrate and wattage for processors, capacity for drives, airflow for fans, slot counts for mainboards - next to the price. The header carries the in-world date and your USD balance on every screen. Any category is one click away from any other instead of going back through a desktop; the whole screen is 312x226 and fits a 1080p display at GUI scale 3, which the old 440px-tall desktop did not. The player inventory is no longer shown inside the Shop (nothing there is ever dragged); the Reorder screen keeps its slot
- Wallet: one row per coin with balance, today's USD value and its own Sell button, plus the USD total and the amount field - replaces the separate balance list and 2x4 sell-button grid
- New 16px sidebar icons for every section and action, drawn at their display size
- Rack, Mining Rig and Hosting Rack textures redrawn at 32x32 (perforated side panels, rear exhaust grille, front mounting rails with per-bay holes) so the new open cabinets read cleanly up close. Each keeps its own colour: steel and teal for the Rack, amber for the Mining Rig, light blue for the Hosting Rack
- Machines that are working no longer emit world light at all. An earlier build of this version lit them at light level 6; in a real server room that washed out the whole space, so the effect now comes entirely from the additive LEDs and the pool of light on the floor. Minecraft's light engine has no colour channels, so any light a block emits is white regardless of what its lamps look like - genuinely coloured room lighting needs a shader pack whose own block list knows these blocks
Removed
- Crafting recipes for the Rack, Mining Rig, Hosting Rack, Miner Simulation, both Synthesizers and the Server. These blocks are meant to be bought, and the recipes undercut that badly - a Rack cost 6 iron ingots and 3 cobblestone against its $150 shop price, so the entire hardware economy could be skipped with a pickaxe. All of them remain available in the Shop under Facility
- Solar Panel VI from the Solar Flux storefront: a bought solar field of the top tier out-produced building a reactor at all. Tiers I-V stay
- Energy Acceptor from the AE2 storefront: it is AE2's own FE-to-AE bridge, and the Power Interface exists precisely so an ME network runs on Compute instead
Fixed
- The Radiation Simulation block dropped nothing when mined and could not be broken with the correct tool at all - it had neither a loot table nor a mining-tag entry, so a $300 block was destroyed permanently by breaking it. The same was true of every block added in this version; all of them now drop themselves normally. A Server Room Door correctly yields one door, not two
- Cables, the refrigerant pipe and the wall seal were missing from the pickaxe mining tag. They always dropped (they never required a specific tool), but they mined at bare-hand speed
- Buying or selling in the Shop updated the inventory server-side immediately, but the client only showed the change after closing the Shop. The redesigned Shop screens carry no inventory slots, which is what vanilla used to sync through; purchases and sales now push the changed slots to the client directly
- Room Fan ran, drew power and "vented" heat with its exhaust side walled in - only the intake side was ever checked. A blocked exhaust now stops the fan, and walling a side in is noticed the same tick instead of up to five seconds later
- Room Fan GUI: the overclock buttons sat on top of the player inventory and its label
- The AE2 Power Interface could never actually connect to an Applied Energistics 2 network - no AE2 cable could find it, because the capability AE2 uses to discover a connectable block was never registered for it. It's now reachable exactly like any real AE2 generator
- Any craftable item sold in the Shop could be crafted from Simulation-block output and sold straight back for 80% of its price, with nothing capping it but crafting speed - which turned Compute into unlimited USD and bypassed mining and hosting entirely. This already applied to the Mekanism cables and Solar Flux panels the Shop sold before this update. Partner-mod items are now buy-only and no longer appear in the Sell screen; the mod's own hardware is unaffected and still sells back exactly as before
