Data Center

Data Center turns compute into a real SkyBlock resource: build server Racks, power and cool them, then route compute over a bandwidth-limited cable network to Synthesizers for materials or Mining Rigs/Hosting Racks for real crypto income

What's new

[1.1.0] - 2026-09-06
Note for existing worlds: two economy fixes below change how much money an in-progress save earns. Sell-back is now capped at an item's base catalog price, and shop price inflation is capped at 2x, so hoarded hardware is worth less than it was before this update. This is deliberate - see the two entries under Fixed.
Added
Payment Voucher: a cheque item that carries a USD face value and credits it to the Wallet on right-click. It exists so the modpack's quest rewards can pay out without FTB Quests' command reward, whose display icon is hardcoded to a command block and cannot be changed from data
Sell-back: a new "Sell" tile in the Shop lets you sell hardware components (CPU/GPU/RAM/PSU/Mainboard/ASIC/etc.) back for 80% of their current buy price, scaled down further for worn/damaged components
Room Fan block: front intake grille, one side vents air out, the other side draws air in
Miner Simulator loot pool now includes real ore drops from every ore-adding mod in the pack: Applied Energistics 2 (Certus Quartz Crystal), Create (Raw Zinc), Modern Industrialization, and Electrodynamics (Cassiterite, Galena, Chromite, Fluorite, Acanthite, Rutile, Vanadinite, Lepidolite)
New Radiation Simulation block: feeds on Compute like the Miner Simulator, but produces real raw uranium/thorium ore (Mekanism, Modern Industrialization, Electrodynamics) - split out on its own since these items can trigger a real Radiation status effect via cross-mod compatibility
New "Reorder" tile in the Shop: insert an assembled Server to buy a fresh, pristine duplicate with the exact same Mainboard/PSU/CPU/GPU/RAM/Storage/Fan loadout, priced as the sum of every component's current price plus a 5% convenience markup
Rack/Mining Rig/Hosting Rack GUIs now show current power draw (FE/t) right next to stored/max FE
Changed
CPU/GPU tooltip now labels the base hashrate "SHA-256" instead of the generic "Hashrate"
A Room Fan or A/C actively keeping the exhaust side of a Rack/Rig cold now measurably helps it shed heat (and an overheating exhaust room symmetrically makes cooling harder), not just the intake side
The in-world calendar now advances 12 fictional days per Minecraft day played (was 7) - real-historical crypto prices/difficulty/hardware unlocks all progress noticeably faster relative to playtime. Existing saves will see a one-time forward jump in the in-world date the next time they load
Miner Simulator loot pool cleaned up: removed everything that isn't an actual ore-block drop (Cobblestone, Flint, Slime Ball, Ender Pearl, Obsidian, Amethyst Shard)
Fixed
Selling an assembled Server at the Shop's Sell tile paid only the bare chassis price (~$50) and silently destroyed every component installed in it. The payout now adds up the Server plus every installed PSU/CPU/GPU/RAM/Storage/Fan, each at its own price and its own remaining condition
The Log Buyer's chat message always said "log(s)" even when selling sticks or saplings - it now names whatever was actually sold
Once the in-world calendar ran past the end of the bundled real market data (about 538 MC days in), mining stopped for every coin at once, Bitcoin's sell price collapsed to a random $0.01-$0.20, and every other coin fell back to its earliest-ever price (Dogecoin to $0.000863, roughly 230x too low). Prices, difficulty and network hashrate now hold at their last real value instead of vanishing, so a long-running world keeps working
Hardware could be bought, left in a chest, and sold back for more than it cost: sell-back pays 80% of the current price, and prices compound upward every day, so holding turned a profit after about 112 MC days and kept growing. Sell-back is now capped at the item's un-inflated catalog price
Shop price inflation (0.2%/MC day) had no ceiling and reached 54x after 2000 MC days, eventually pricing hardware out of reach entirely. Capped at 2x the real launch price
A Server with a GPU but no CPU installed used to run and produce Compute/hashrate normally - a GPU cannot boot without a CPU present, so at least one CPU is now required (Rack, Mining Rig, Hosting Rack). The Workbench's "missing processor" warning now correctly triggers on this case too, with an updated message
Rack/Rig fans were roughly 70x weaker at cooling a sealed room than the exact same fans in open air - a Rack with several 100 CFM fans could still equilibrate above 100°C in an enclosed space. Sealed-room fan cooling now matches a real HVAC airflow formula (~0.57 W per CFM per °C of temperature difference)
RandomX (XMR) and Scrypt (LTC) hashrate tooltip lines no longer show up before those coins actually exist on the in-world calendar
4GB DDR3 RAM unlocked far too late (2009-09-01, not based on any real product) - now unlocks 2008-06-03, matching Corsair's real first 4GB 1600MHz DDR3 kit availability
Reorder screen's Buy button overlapped the player inventory's first row
