Data Center: AI
Host AI models on your own graphics cards and sell the answers.
Data Center: AI adds one block to Data Center: the AI Gateway. Connect it to your compute network with a cable, pick an AI model, and it answers customer requests with the compute of your accelerator cards. The income goes to your account once per calendar day. All market figures are estimates.
How it works
- AI Gateway - crafted from iron ingots, a block of redstone and two cables. Its screen lists the models and shows status, memory, what the server needs, the cards that carry the model, compute, capacity, demand, price and income. Everybody may look; only the owner (or the owner's team) may change anything.
- Cards in AI Racks only. The model runs on graphics cards in the AI Racks of Data Center; cards in a normal Server Rack bring the gateway nothing. Any graphics card counts, gaming cards included, only dedicated mining cards do not.
- Memory decides. The cards must hold the model. It can be spread over several cards of the same server (up to
eight, config
cardsPerModel); the server also needs main memory and drive space at least the size of the model. - Big models over several servers. Spread a model over up to eight servers of yours in the same network; each extra server costs part of the compute, and if one drops out the model stops.
- Open models earn on an open market: price and demand follow the kind of model, its quality against the best of its kind on that date, and the date. Outdated models earn less.
- Licensed models can be hosted from their release date as a hosting order: the maker rents your infrastructure for a fixed rent per calendar day.
- Model table from 2012 to 2026 with 34 milestones, and a memory table for all graphics cards of Data Center. Both are data packs, reloadable, and other packs can add to them.
Not in yet: training your own models, reputation and response time.
Multiplayer
Each account (a player, or a team with FTB Teams) owns its gateways and earns on its own. Several gateways of one owner share that owner's demand; owners do not take customers from each other. Client and server both need the same version.
For pack makers
An API (AiAccountApi) tells which models an account hosts and the largest one; a hidden advancement
datacenterai:operations/first_model fires when a model runs for the first time. Prices, demand and limits are in
the config.
Requirements
- Data Center 2.0.0 or newer (required); spreading a model over several servers needs 2.1.4.
Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1.x. Works in singleplayer and on dedicated servers.
A note on how this was made
This mod was built with substantial help from AI. I gave the direction; the design, the code, the textures and this text were written by an AI assistant. I would rather say that plainly than have you wonder.
