Drown in jewels!
Discover black diamonds and craft jewelry using gems on 'Jewelry Table'!
This mod adds a new type of diamond to the game. It differs significantly from vanilla Minecraft's original diamond in terms of color (theme), ore hardness and durability, and the strength of the tools and armor it produces. You can find these diamond ores at Y coordinates (Y2-Y16), where the stone and deep slate levels intersect, and you also have a high chance of finding exposed ore. The reason the ore spawns at this height is due to the nostalgia and appreciation for Minecraft versions 1.14 and 1.16, a reference to those versions of the game. To mine the ore, you need a pickaxe capable of diamond extraction. You can obtain even more with the Wealth Spell.
If you've collected enough dark diamonds, you might want to craft tools and armor (use the JEI [Just Enough Items] mod for recipes). The main difference in crafting the tools is that they require more materials than the vanilla tool recipe templates. The sticks will have the same arrangement, but you'll need sticks made of acacia wood instead of regular sticks. You can craft these acacia sticks by stacking two acacia planks on top of each other, just like you would with regular sticks. Once you've collected enough dark diamonds and crafted enough acacia sticks, you can craft dark diamond tools. Crafting armor is the same as vanilla armor recipe templates (Vanilla = Plain Minecraft). Enchanting your tools and armor is a much better idea. Dark diamond gear supports enchantments up to level 9.
That's not all. This mod also adds gem crafting to the game. But before you get started, you'll need to find the Gem Workshop, a structure that can spawn within an average radius of 6000 blocks. Once you find this structure, three villagers will greet you at the entrance. Upon entering, you'll find several functional blocks and storage blocks containing numerous loot items (three barrels and one large chest). These blocks yield gold pieces and ingots, emeralds, and diamonds. There's also an armor stand containing valuable pieces, as well as two item frames. In this two-story building, all the loot except for a large chest is found on the ground floor. The most important detail you'll notice is the presence of a Jewelry Workbench on the ground floor and one on the upper floor. These tables allow you to craft jewelry (you can find the recipes in the Mod Gallery). When you right-click on the table, a menu appears that always places gold nuggets or gold ingots in the yellow slots, while the upper blue slots hold gem-type materials such as dark diamonds, diamonds, and emeralds. Then, check the relevant box for the type of jewelry you want to craft. If everything is OK, click the "ASSEMBLE" button at the bottom, and your jewelry is ready. You can collect it from the exit slot on the far right.
This jewelry workbench also serves as a crafting workbench for villagers. If the villagers in the building aren't hiring, try destroying and replacing the workbenches, placing a bell and three beds in the building. If that doesn't work, take the workbenches and move them to a village.
These jewelry workbenches can only be found in these jewelry workshops; they cannot be crafted. Before you start trading with the villagers who work from these stalls, you'll want to grab the Emerald Baguette Ring from the armor stand in the building in your left hand. This ring grants the Village Hero effect, which is the most important effect to start with. This will make trading easier.
You can use the rings in the mod by holding them in your left hand. They don't require right-clicking; they give you effects as long as you hold them in your left hand. There are three types of rings: emerald, diamond, and dark diamond.
New jewelry will be available with further updates; for now, only the rings are available.
