Dapper Dodos adds a handful of small features to the game, with its main focus being the dodo. Unlike most mobs, dodos do not spawn naturally in the world by default. Instead, they must be revived using custom machines.
Reviving a dodo is simpler than it sounds. You’ll need to explore caves to find fossils, which can be processed using a DNA Extraction Machine.
After extracting DNA, you can craft an Incubation Machine and create a dodo egg using a chicken egg and a Bottle o’ DNA. Place the egg down, wait a short while, and it will hatch into a baby dodo.
Natural dodo spawning can be enabled if you prefer. This option can be toggled either from the main menu or in-game (with cheats enabled) using the command:/gamerule doDodoSpawning true
Once enabled, dodos will spawn in most biomes where common friendly mobs spawn, though they are slightly rarer.
