CWSM Story Mode Visuals

CWSM Story Mode Visuals is a visual and atmosphere overhaul for Cracker's Wither Storm Mod designed to make the mod feel even closer to Minecraft: Story Mode.

Instead of completely replacing CWSM's gameplay, this mod focuses on changing and expanding its appearance, music, structures, and Story Mode-inspired details.

This mod was made for people who enjoy Cracker's Wither Storm Mod but want even more Minecraft: Story Mode atmosphere.

Why doesn't this use the custom TGD Wither Storm model?

I originally experimented with the custom Wither Storm models, but they caused the Wither Storm itself to become invisible on my setup.

Because of that, this mod intentionally keeps CWSM's normal Wither Storm model while using the compatible textures and other visual changes.

The normal CWSM tentacles are also currently kept instead of the custom Story Mode tentacle models.

I would rather have a stable and fully visible Wither Storm than risk breaking the main boss.

Requirements

Cracker's Wither Storm Mod is REQUIRED.

Entity Model Features (EMF) is REQUIRED.

Entity Texture Features (ETF) is REQUIRED.

Forge is REQUIRED.

Supported Versions

Minecraft 1.20.1 - Forge

Additional versions may be released separately.

Installation

Install Forge for Minecraft 1.20.1.

Install Cracker's Wither Storm Mod.

Install Entity Model Features.

Install Entity Texture Features.

Place CWSM Story Mode Visuals into your mods folder.

Launch Minecraft and enjoy.

Compatibility

This mod is specifically designed for Cracker's Wither Storm Mod.

It is not intended for unrelated Wither Storm mods.

Because this changes many CWSM resources, other texture packs or addons that replace the same files may overwrite parts of this mod depending on load order.

Modpacks

You may include this mod in CurseForge or Modrinth modpacks as long as the original project page is used and the mod itself is not reuploaded separately.

FAQ

Does this require Cracker's Wither Storm Mod?

Yes. CWSM is required. This is an addon/visual overhaul for CWSM and is not a standalone Wither Storm mod.

Do I need EMF and ETF?

Yes. Entity Model Features and Entity Texture Features should both be installed.

Does this replace the actual Wither Storm?

No. It changes resources and visuals while continuing to use Cracker's Wither Storm Mod as the actual Wither Storm.

Why are the tentacles still the normal CWSM tentacles?

I tested more Story Mode-like custom models, but I decided to keep the normal CWSM tentacles for stability and compatibility.

Why isn't the custom TGD Wither Storm model included?

During testing, the custom Wither Storm model caused the Wither Storm body to become invisible. The current release uses the normal CWSM model so everything remains visible and playable.

Does this change the Formidi Bomb?

Yes. The mod includes a custom 3D Formidi Bomb model and textures.

Does it change Super TNT?

Yes. Super TNT also receives a custom 3D model and textures.

Does it include the old CWSM textures?

Yes. Selected classic CWSM block textures and sickened mob textures are included.

Does it change the music?

Yes. Several Wither Storm-related tracks have been changed to create more of a Minecraft: Story Mode atmosphere.

Does it change the Bowels?

Yes. The current 1.20.1 version includes the upside-down Bowels setup.

Does it change where the Wither Storm spawns?

The current 1.20.1 version includes a custom Story Mode-inspired Wither Storm spawn-area structure.

Fabric?

No.

Can I put this in a modpack?

Yes, as long as you link/use the official project and do not reupload the mod as your own.

Can I reupload this mod?

No. Please link to the official CurseForge or Modrinth page instead.

Will more Story Mode features be added?

Probably. If I find more features that can be added without breaking CWSM, I may continue expanding the project.
