Custom Armour System

Unlisted
A refined vanilla armor system aimed at making armour more punishable by enemies by adding systems like armour integrity and more

Armor that wears down — and matters the whole fight, not just at the start.

Custom Armour System replaces Minecraft's flat armor formula with a dynamic, integrity-based damage reduction model. Instead of a fixed percentage reduction that trivializes damage the moment you gear up, your protection is tied to a depletable Armour Integrity pool that drains as you take hits and regenerates when you're out of danger.

How it works:
- Hyperbolic reduction curve — damage reduction is calculated as effective armour / (effective armour + K), so reduction rises quickly at first but never flatlines into near-immunity, keeping fights meaningful even in end-game gear. The curve's steepness (K) is fully configurable.
- Integrity pool — your maximum integrity is built from your armor and toughness stats. Every hit that your armor actually blocks chips away at that pool.
- Reduction scales with remaining integrity — as your integrity drops over a prolonged fight, your effective protection tapers down smoothly instead of vanishing all at once, rewarding players who disengage and recover instead of tanking forever.
- Regeneration — integrity passively recovers once you've gone a few seconds without taking damage, so a tense fight has real recovery windows instead of permanent wear.
- Penetration chance — a configurable chance for hits to partially bypass your armor's reduction and drain integrity faster, keeping even heavily-armored players honest.
- Live HUD bar shows your current Armour Integrity so you always know how much protection you have left before you need to fall back.

Every constant — reduction curve steepness, integrity per armor/toughness point, regen delay and rate, penetration chance and severity — is exposed in the config, so server owners can tune the whole system to their pack's difficulty curve.
