TreeChop is a lightweight Fabric mod that adds a realistic and satisfying way to chop down trees in Minecraft.
Instead of breaking every log individually or instantly felling the whole tree with one hit, TreeChop requires you to repeatedly hit the bottom log (the base block closest to the ground) several times — typically 4 hits depending on tree size. Each hit damages the base log progressively (with visible cracking like in vanilla), and only after enough hits does the entire tree collapse at once, dropping all logs and letting leaves decay naturally.
Key Features:
- Bottom-only chopping — You must target the lowest log to start the process (no chopping from the middle or top to trigger the full fell).
- Configurable hits required (default: 4).
- Works with vanilla trees and most modded/custom trees.
- Fully compatible with Fabric 1.21.11.
- Vanilla+ style — no overpowered instant cuts, just a smoother, more immersive wood-gathering experience.
- Optional fast leaf decay after the tree falls (configurable).
This mod is perfect for players who want a balanced QoL improvement: faster than vanilla block-by-block chopping, but more engaging than one-hit tree mods like FallingTree or Tree Harvester.
Inspired by progressive chopping mechanics, but uniquely focused on starting from the root/base for that authentic "felling" feel.
