What's new

Cruise Cruise no Mi 0.5.0 (beta)

Every trade has its talents. The perks by level are gone. Each of the fourteen trades earns talent points and spends them in a web of its own, and each web holds combat abilities to fight with your trade. You can also play a civilian now, some towns have a noble quarter with a merchant found nowhere else, and the Carpenter builds and mends the ships of Valkyrien Skies.

Requires Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47+, Mine Mine no Mi 0.11.6 and AkumaLib 4.8.0 or newer. Client and server. Valkyrien Skies is never required.

⚠️ Update the server and every player together. The network protocol changed: a 0.5.0 client cannot join a 0.4.2 server, nor the other way round.

⚠️ Your worlds. A world played with 0.4.2 opens as it is. If you had a trade already, your talent points are placed for you on the perks you had. Noble quarters only come in towns made after this update.

⚠️ A beta: everything here is playable, but numbers may still move with your feedback.

New

  • Talents for every trade. No trade gets the same 3 perks as everyone else any more. You earn 1 talent point every 5 levels and spend it in your trade's web of talents, from the Talents button on its page of the trades book or with the Talents key (J). You choose your own way. The screen follows the game's GUI Scale.
    • Fisher: bigger catches, more bites, deep water or the shore, Sea Kings, trophies that sell dearer.
    • Hunter, a net: quieter steps, creatures that wait longer before they take off, rarer creatures, tools that last.
    • Lumberjack, a tree: faster felling, a second log, more saplings, more XP from the great trees, a Felling Saw that brings down 96 logs, Sweet Sap from the logs.
    • Miner, a mine: more finds in the rock, ores that give twice, faster digging, more from deepslate and Kairoseki.
    • Farmer, a ploughed field: rare harvests, Fine and Superb harvests, fuller baskets, crops that sow themselves again, fruits that grow back sooner. If you were a Farmer already you keep your Fine and Superb harvests.
    • Cook, a pot on the fire: better dishes, buffs that last longer, a second dish now and then, an ingredient saved.
    • Blacksmith, a sword: better tempering, sharper edges, a burning blade, more bullets and balls out of a forging.
    • Chemist, a molecule: more out of a brew, stronger remedies, balls that reach further and last longer.
    • Inventor, a light bulb: sturdier and faster tools, twice as many out of a making now and then.
    • Carpenter, a ship: stouter hulls, planks that mend more, more planks out of a wreck.
    • Tailor, a shirt: sturdier seams, a master's work that can be made better still, more scraps.
    • Musician, two notes: tunes that carry further and last longer, scores not always used up, listeners who pay more.
    • Navigator, a compass rose: a Log Pose that looks further, charts not always used up, more XP for new ground.
    • Merchant, a pair of scales: the market fills slower with what you sell, more lots and less fee at the Auction House. Your prices stay as they were.
  • Fighting with your trade. Each web holds combat abilities, found in the abilities list once their talent is taken. They cost nothing from your bag. The Fisher fights with his rod, the Hunter with his nets and traps, the Lumberjack with his axe, the Miner with his pickaxe, the Farmer with his hoe, the Cook with his bare hands, the Blacksmith with a weapon out of a Forge, the Chemist with his Experiment Equipment, the Inventor with his gadgets, the Carpenter with his mallet and nails, the Tailor with his needles, the Musician with an instrument, the Navigator with a Barometer and the Merchant with empty hands. 44 abilities in all, in a Profession tab of their own in the abilities screen.
  • Potion of Second Thoughts. A new potion of the Chemist, at level 20. Drink it, pick one of your trades, and every talent point you spent in it comes back to you.
  • Play a civilian. The Civilian is a choice in the character creator's book, with its own flag. No bounty, no loyalty. Marines and the World Government leave you alone, pirates and bandits do not. Strike three men of the law in one day and you are a pirate. A Bounty Hunter or a Revolutionary you strike may strike you back. Help a village beat a raid and it thanks you with 50 Belly and a good turn for every raider you beat.
  • The noble quarter. One town in three has a manor round a court of honour and a garden with its fountain, drawn for each land (an oasis garden in the desert). Nobles live there. They have no love for any pirate with a bounty and every welcome for the Marines.
  • The Antiquarian. The noble quarter's own merchant, in the manor's library. He buys only Fine and Superb dishes and harvests, at one and a half times their price, and sells a few rarities of the trades each day, very dear.
  • The Carpenter and Valkyrien Skies. With Valkyrien Skies and Eureka installed, the Carpenter earns XP for a ship he assembles, mends it by crouching with a plank (each block put back comes from his bag), and his Stout Hull and Ironwood talents give it spare blocks that take a blast in its stead.

Changed

  • The trades book's guide has a section on talents, and no longer speaks of perks by level.
  • Each trade's abilities form a group for Mine Mine no Mi's /ability unlock_group (inocruise:fisher to inocruise:merchant). An ability given by a command now stays.
  • Tempered Guard no longer holds the Blacksmith's arms crossed.

Fixed

  • The walk along a town's wall and the roofs over its gates and lookouts now rest on their posts. Half a block of void stood over every post.
