Bring Mendelian genetics into Minecraft. Every wheat plant now has a genome, so you can breed, cross, and cultivate your own super wheat.

FEATURES

- 6 pairs of genes on every wheat: ear count, disease resistance, nutrition, saturation, husk thickness, and growth speed

- Genome and phenotype: genotype is hidden by default; phenotype can be inspected with a stone hoe

- Gametes: mature wheat drops female and male gametes carrying random alleles

- Crossing: combine one female gamete and one male gamete in a crafting table to produce a new seed

- Custom bread: wheat genes determine whether bread gives extra nutrition, extra saturation, or both

- Disease mechanic: non-resistant wheat has a chance to wilt during early growth

- Natural generation: grass drops, village farms, and other vanilla wheat sources all carry random genomes

HOW TO PLAY

1. Break grass to get crossbreeding seeds (random genes)

2. Plant on farmland like vanilla wheat

3. Right-click a mature plant with a stone hoe to see its phenotype

4. Harvest to get crossbreeding wheat and gametes

5. Craft 1 female gamete + 1 male gamete into a new seed

6. Craft bread from crossbreeding wheat. Quality is determined by genes.

GENE TABLE

A / a Dominant: Few ears Recessive: Many ears

B / b Dominant: Disease resistant Recessive: Non-resistant

C / c Dominant: Low nutrition Recessive: High nutrition

D / d Dominant: Low saturation Recessive: High saturation

E / e Dominant: Thick husk Recessive: Thin husk

F / f Dominant: Slow growth Recessive: Fast growth

Note: Most of the "good" traits are recessive. You need homozygous pairs (aa, cc, dd, ee, ff) to express them.

SIMPLE MODE

Admin command, requires OP level 2:

    /crossbreeding simple true (enable)

    /crossbreeding simple false (disable)

When enabled, tooltips show full genotype on seeds, wheat, and gametes. It also shows genotype when inspecting mature wheat with a stone hoe.

State is saved per-world and persists across server restarts.
