CrewTasks

Turn your server's to-do list into shared jobs. Assign friends, track crafting and deliveries, organize projects, and offer item rewards from one in-game task board.

CrewTasks gives your Minecraft world a shared to-do list that your friends can work through.

Post jobs, assign players, contribute materials, track crafting, and organize larger builds into projects. Whether you need logs for a storage room, hoppers for a farm, or someone to finish the roof, everyone can see what needs doing and who is working on it.

Three ways to get things done

  • Deliver items: Request an item and quantity, then link a chest or barrel as the destination. Players review the exact stacks before confirming their hand-in. Multiple players can contribute, with contributions recorded separately.
  • Craft items: Assign or claim a crafting job and let new manual crafting update its progress automatically. Normal clicks and shift-click crafting are supported, and crafted items stay with the crafter.
  • Checklists: Create general jobs such as building a bridge, decorating a room, or repairing a farm. The assignee, creator, or a server operator can mark them complete.

Assign jobs and follow progress

Assign a task directly to a friend or leave it open for anyone to claim. The searchable player picker shows online and offline status, and players can receive assignments while offline after joining the world at least once.

Add instructions, choose a priority, search the board, and filter between active tasks, your assignments, and completed work. Pin a task to your HUD to follow its progress while playing.

Tasks and assignments are saved with the world and continue across normal server restarts.

Organize larger projects

Group related jobs into a project such as Build the storage room:

  • Gather oak logs.
  • Craft the chests.
  • Deliver building supplies.
  • Finish the walls and roof.

Projects show completed jobs and overall progress, including partial progress on item tasks. Existing tasks can join a project through the editor, and removing a project preserves its tasks.

Choose items and edit requests

Search registered items by display name or registry ID, with icons and carried quantities to help identify them. You can also select the item you are holding.

Creators and server operators can edit task titles, instructions, priorities, quantities, assignments, and project membership. Recorded contributions remain intact. Quantities cannot fall below existing progress, and the requested item or task type cannot change after work has been recorded.

Review deliveries before handing items in

Every hand-in includes a preview showing which stacks and quantities will move. Named, enchanted, damaged, or otherwise modified items are highlighted for review. Transfers preserve their item components.

Previews expire after 30 seconds. Changes to the inventory, chest contents, task, or destination require a fresh review.

Give your delivery chest a useful name and enable HUD guidance to see its coordinates, horizontal distance, and turn direction. If it is in another dimension, the guide tells you which dimension to visit.

Discuss work and explain blockers

Each task has an Activity page for instructions, comments, and recent changes.

The creator, assignee, or a server operator can mark a task Blocked and explain why—for example, “Waiting for iron to craft the hoppers.” Blocked tasks pause progress until the blocker is cleared. The latest 40 activity entries are retained.

Offer item rewards

Attach an optional payment when posting a task. The advertised reward is withdrawn from the creator’s inventory up front.

  • Item-job rewards are divided proportionally between recorded contributors.
  • Checklist rewards go to the assignee, or the completer if nobody is assigned.
  • Canceling an unfinished paid job refunds the entire unsettled deposit to its creator.
  • Payments and refunds wait in persistent mailboxes until collected.
  • Full inventories leave uncollected rewards in the mailbox.

Deposits use ordinary item stacks. Named, enchanted, damaged, or otherwise modified items are excluded from payment deposits. Deposited rewards stay fixed, and paid checklists cannot be reopened after payment.

Getting started

  1. Install the same CrewTasks version on the server and every player’s client.
  2. Join the world and press K, or type /crew.
  3. Select New task, choose a job type, and enter its details.
  4. Assign a friend or leave the job open.
  5. For deliveries, open Delivery chest and link the chest or barrel you are looking at.

The key is rebindable in Minecraft’s Controls menu. CrewTasks also works in single-player.

Requirements

  • Minecraft Java Edition 26.3
  • NeoForge 26.3.0.99 or newer within the 26.3 series
  • Java 25
  • Installation on both server and clients

Current scope

The board is shared with everyone on the server and supports up to 100 tasks and 50 projects.

Delivery destinations support normal chests, trapped chests, and barrels. Double chests use the selected 27-slot half. Only confirmed CrewTasks hand-ins count; existing chest contents and hopper deposits do not.

Crafting goals count new manual Survival crafting after assignment or claiming. Smelting, smithing, stonecutting, autocrafters, and machines do not count—use delivery jobs for those outputs.

Chest guidance provides a straight-line bearing.
