Creepypasta: Recrafted — 1.1.0 Case No. 17 Update
Version 1.1.0 introduces a survival investigation system, a new creature, sanity mechanics, field equipment, multiplayer improvements and a dedicated soundtrack.
NEW CREATURE: HOODIE
- Added Hoodie, the watching proxy inspired by Marble Hornets.
- Watches players from a distance, retreats when approached and escapes in smoke when threatened.
- Becomes aggressive when cornered or repeatedly attacked.
- Appears at night in dark forests, birch forests and old-growth taigas, and near the Tape 17 station.
- Added a dedicated skin, spawn egg, loot table and advancement.
- Hoodie can drop Proxy Notes and Slender pages.
CASE NO. 17: SURVIVAL PROGRESSION
- Added personal investigation records for nine creature categories, tracking encounters, camera recordings and victories.
- Added six investigator ranks, including the starting rank, with equipment rewards and unlockable perks.
- Earn investigation points by discovering creatures and locations, recording evidence, collecting expedition pages and obtaining lore books.
- Expanded the Creepypasta Journal to 17 pages with live progress, equipment guidance and expedition information.
- Unencountered creatures initially appear as rumors.
- Added a “Next Step” page that suggests what to do next based on your progress.
- Added first-use instructions for investigation tools and rank-based recipe-book unlocks.
- Added eight Expedition 17 pages with directions to haunted locations.
- Expedition pages can be found in haunted locations, expedition caches and selected vanilla loot chests.
- Added biome-specific nighttime omens, hidden expedition caches and possible proxy ambushes.
- Added a configurable first-day grace period that suppresses natural creature spawns, Jeff’s visits and nighttime omens. Rituals and location encounters remain available.
- Added contextual journal tips after death.
SANITY
- Added a personal sanity meter from 0 to 100, displayed near the hotbar.
- Darkness, threatening creatures, haunted locations, nighttime thunderstorms and unlit underground exploration can reduce sanity.
- Light, rest, protective equipment, nearby companions and owned pets can help recovery.
- Low sanity can trigger whispers, footsteps, heartbeat sounds and visual hallucinations.
- At critically low sanity, nearby torches may go out.
- Sleeping restores sanity to at least 50.
- Sanity loss is reduced on Peaceful difficulty.
- Added Calming Tea and the Composure effect to restore sanity, prevent first-encounter shock and reduce sanity drain.
FIELD EQUIPMENT
- Added a battery-powered flashlight with a directional beam, low-battery feedback and creature-specific reactions.
- Sneak + right-click releases a defensive flash with an 8-block range and a 30-second cooldown.
- The flash disorients the Rake, forces hostile Smile Dog back toward its husky form, makes Masky and Hoodie recoil, and briefly blinds Jeff.
- Slender Man reacts with a visual glitch and a temporary teleport lock instead of retreating.
- Added a camcorder with a viewfinder, zoom and creature recording progress.
- Recording takes longer in darkness, with a LOW LIGHT warning in the viewfinder.
- Added a tape recorder for collecting recordings at haunted locations and detecting nearby creatures through directional audio clues.
- Added salt that can be placed as a defensive line. Creatures from the mod are repelled by it, except Slender Man.
- Added rank perks for faster camera focus, longer flashlight range, precise expedition coordinates and reduced encounter shock.
CREATURE IMPROVEMENTS
- Masky’s equipped axe now renders correctly and follows his animated hand.
- Added a staring behavior and watch animation for Masky.
- Added recoil, listening and death animations for Masky and Hoodie.
- Jeff’s “Go to sleep” attack now correctly deals double damage in a single hit, while respecting shields, armor and enchantments.
- Jeff is recognized faster in brightly lit areas, making light more useful against his stalking behavior.
MULTIPLAYER
- Nearby players share nighttime omens and expedition cache events.
- Cache ambushes are limited to prevent excessive proxy accumulation.
- Nearby combat participants receive investigation credit for a creature’s defeat.
- Expedition pages remain available after reading and can be passed to other players.
- Companions reduce sanity pressure.
- A nearby companion with sufficient sanity prevents panic-related torch extinguishing.
AUDIO AND VISUALS
- Added a six-track Case No. 17 soundtrack, including journal, nighttime, breakdown, rank and cache music.
- Added the “Expedition 17 — Bunker, Day 17” music disc.
- Added smooth music transitions and coordination with vanilla background music.
- Added sound effects for field equipment, investigation events, sanity and Slender’s glitch reaction.
- Added equipment poses, first-person movement, low-sanity hand tremors and flashlight beam particles.
- Added sanity HUD feedback, Composure visuals and camera focus indicators.
- Added new advancements, recipes, item textures and English/Russian translations.
FIXES AND QUALITY OF LIFE
- Fixed missing newspaper clippings and family photographs in location chests caused by incorrect item IDs.
- Fixed build scripts looking for the previous JAR filename.
- Camera focus now resets when switching slots or dying.
- Filming Slender Man no longer incorrectly makes his AI treat the player as immobilized.
- Fixed duplicate rank rewards when inventory space is limited.
- Nighttime omens are restricted to the Overworld and exclude Creative players.
- Hallucinations no longer trigger while sleeping.
- The journal no longer pauses the game.
CONFIGURATION AND COMPATIBILITY
- Added Case No. 17 configuration options for investigation, sanity, rewards, omens, caches and the grace period.
- Added client options for the sanity HUD, hallucinations and soundtrack.
- Added /slender case, /slender case perks, /slender case reset, /slender case complete and /slender sanity commands.
- Minecraft 1.20.1 / Forge 47.x / Java 17.
- The dg_slender mod ID and existing content IDs are retained for compatibility with previous worlds.
