What's new
0.1.12 — 2026-10-09
Save a buildable train as a schematic — asked for on CurseForge, to use a buildable train as a Railways Untold starting train. Everything from the two test builds since 0.1.10 (0.1.11-experimental and 0.1.12-experimental), in one go. Single player only for now; a server behaves as 0.1.10 did.
- NEW: in single player, "Save and Upload" with Create's Schematic and Quill saves a buildable train the way Create saves any assembled train, with everything built on it as it is now - chests and their contents included - ready to use as a custom starting train in Railways Untold. A copy goes into your
schematicsfolder. (Like any schematic of an assembled Create train, a schematicannon does not print the train itself.) - Start the selection on the ground beside the train, never on the train itself. A selection begun on the train (or on anything else that moves) and reaching another carriage is refused with "Start the selection on the ground beside the train". A selection kept to one deck still saves just that deck's blocks, as it always could, and says it is not the train.
- The "Saved" line says how many of the train's carriages it saved ("2 of the train's 2 carriages"), and warns when some were outside the selection - Railways Untold needs the carriage with the controls.
- Things standing on a deck - a minecart, an armor stand, an item frame - are not saved with the train, and the save says so. (Neither a schematicannon nor Railways Untold would put them back: Railways Untold places only the carriages, and a schematicannon does not print minecarts.)
- When the train cannot be saved as built, the save is refused and says why: the selection misses a carriage, it also holds another physics body, or a windmill or bearing is running on the train. A file without the train is never written.
- "Save to File" points you to "Save and Upload". On a server, schematics of a buildable train are still refused.
- To use it as a Railways Untold starting train: put the file in a data pack at
data/my_train/structure/my_train.nbt, adddata/railwaysuntold/railwaysuntold/trains/default_train.jsoncontaining{"schematic": "my_train:my_train", "front_facing": "auto"}, and select the pack when you create a NEW world. The instance needs every mod whose blocks are on the train - Railways Untold turns blocks from missing mods into air. - The schematic messages and the bogey wrench message now say "disassemble" instead of "take apart".
