Create Stock Keeper Tooltip Fix
A client bugfix for Create 6.0.10 that prevents tooltip side effects from clearing selected Stock Keeper orders.
The problem
Some items disappear from the Stock Keeper order bar after hovering them or after the stock list refreshes. This can happen when another mod adds or replaces item data while building a tooltip.
Why it happens
Create passes the same ItemStack sample used by the stock and order UI to tooltip code. If a tooltip changes that sample, its data can stop matching the next stock snapshot and native order validation can reduce the requested quantity to zero.
Scope of the fix
- Builds normal stock and order tooltips from temporary ItemStack copies.
- Uses the same protection for recipe tooltips.
- Keeps native item matching and order validation unchanged.
- Requires installation only on affected clients.
Stored inventories, item statistics, enchantments, durability, insulation, components and server-side extraction keep their original rules. The addon neither grants items nor relaxes comparisons between distinct items. It does not address every cause of stock desynchronisation, or tooltip code that mutates component internals in violation of the native immutability contract.
Compatibility
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- NeoForge 21.1.235 or later
- Java 21
- Create 6.0.10, installed separately
Install on each affected client and restart that client. Dedicated-server installation is unnecessary. Cold Sweat and Apotheosis are optional; the fix has no dependency on either. This release targets the two tooltip paths in the original Create 6.0.10 screen. Other Create versions or addons that replace this screen have not been validated. Do not install the original Forge 1.20.1 Departure JAR alongside this port.
From Steam & Steel
The addon originated in Steam & Steel SMP, our custom Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge server modpack. It is available independently of the full modpack.
The original Create mod is required separately. SteamSteelCore, Companion and the full Steam & Steel modpack are not required.

Beta / Feedback
This is a beta release. The port was prepared for an equipment-order problem in our specific Steam & Steel SMP modpack. The original Forge addon and this NeoForge port have separate verification histories; player confirmation of the original addon is not a claim that this port has been confirmed in-game.
If you encounter a crash, an error or unexpected behaviour, please leave a comment with your Minecraft, NeoForge, Create and addon versions, the involved item and tooltip mods, plus steps to reproduce the problem. We will investigate reported bugs and work on fixes.
The exact public JAR has native Mixin application and dedicated-server no-op checks, 4,008 native ItemStack checks and 3,608 native Create order checks across 900 refresh/validation scenarios. These use a controlled component-mutating tooltip consumer. They do not launch a Minecraft client, exercise the full Cold Sweat GUI or prove multiplayer gameplay. Affected-player confirmation after updating and restarting remains pending.
