Create: Smog

Panels Put Air Scrubbers side by side on the same axis and the whole connected group is now one machine any shape, 2x2 or 3x3 or 5x5 or a long strip.

Output scales with member count: 2x2 cleans 4x, 3x3 cleans 9x, 5x5 cleans 25x. So does stress: 8 SU per member, so a 5x5 draws 200 SU. At 25 members the panel reaches up into the cloud layer, as the old 5x5 array did. Panels ride contraptions. A wall of scrubbers on a train counts its members from the contraption itself, so a 5x5 on a locomotive cleans like a 5x5 on the ground. This replaces the old "flat 5x5 promotes the middle block" rule, which needed 25 cartridges fed separately.

Aerometer A brass pocket gauge. Hold it and a readout appears over the hotbar: the raw number, a bar, and the tier in its colour. Readings are now pushed to the client under either pollution engine, so it works with Pollution of the Realms installed and on multiplayer.

Crafted from a glass pane, three brass sheets and an electron tube.

4 Soot + string → Filter Medium, which crafts Filter Cartridges four at a time and without wool. 6 Soot → Graphite in a Basin under a Mechanical Press. Burns 3200 ticks, twice a coal. The Precision Filter Cartridge now needs 2 Graphite alongside its electron tubes, so the best filter in the mod cannot be built without cleaning something first.

KubeJS Ships a KubeJS plugin with a Smog binding:

Fixes Filter wear no longer resets. Cartridges stack again, which had quietly broken the recipes that yield more than one. Balance Air Scrubber base rate 12 → 24 per second. Pollution of the Realms mode: gas search radius 5 → 7, rate multiplier 8 → 12.
