Create: More Rubber Recipes
Adds rubber alternatives to dried kelp recipes in Create and its addons.
Rubber mods like Create: Rubberworks and Create: Polymer replace dried kelp in Create's own recipes — but many addon mods still use dried kelp in their crafting recipes, which feels inconsistent. This mod fixes that by adding rubber-based alternatives to those recipes.
How it works
Every added recipe is conditional: it only loads when at least one rubber mod is installed:
- Create: Rubberworks → uses
rubberworks:rubber_sheet/rubber_block - Create: Polymer → uses
createpolymer:rubber
If both are installed, both rubber types work. If neither is installed, the original dried kelp recipes remain and function exactly as the addon authors wrote them — nothing breaks.
- With both installed, both rubber types work
- With neither installed, the original dried kelp recipes apply unchanged — nothing breaks
Recipes keep their original crafting results, so the items are fully compatible with existing worlds and machines.

Notes
- Food recipes intentionally keep dried kelp (kelp rolls, noodle soup, rice bowls…) — kelp belongs there
- Items built around rubber (like the Interiors chairs with belt-like seating) are renamed to reflect their material (e.g. "Kelp Handle" → "Rubber Handle")
- All addon mods are treated as optional dependencies, so you can remove any of them without issues
- Works purely with recipe JSONs — no mixins, no runtime patching
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it work with only one rubber mod installed? Yes. Recipes activate for whichever rubber mod is present, and accept both when both are loaded.
Why are my chairs still called "Kelp…"? This mod adds a language override that renames rubber-relevant items (Rubber Handle, Rubber Chair…). If you spot another mismatched name, let me know.
Can I use this in a modpack? Yes — free to use in any modpack, public or private.
