
About Create: High Seas
Create: High Seas expands the systems of Create, Create Aeronautics, and the Sable physics engine to bring water-focused physics, buoyancy, flooding, and ocean traversal mechanics into Minecraft.
Build floating contraptions, experimental vessels, boats, submarines, or strange mechanical machines designed to survive on and under the water.
What does this mod add?
Create: High Seas adds a foundation for physics-based maritime contraptions. The mod focuses on making water interaction feel more natural for Sable contraptions, including buoyancy behavior, enclosed dry spaces, flooding logic, and visual ocean effects.
Core Features
Physics-Based Buoyancy
Contraptions can interact with water using custom buoyancy forces. The system accounts for vessel mass, displacement, wave height, and flooding state, allowing ships and underwater vehicles to float, sink, tilt, or become unstable depending on their structure.
Dynamic Water Occlusion
Enclosed spaces inside a vessel can remain visually dry while submerged. The mod detects sealed internal volumes and prevents outside water from visually filling the inside of a closed hull.
This allows submarines, sealed compartments, and enclosed boats to feel much more believable when operating below the waterline.
Flooding System
When a vessel has an opening below the waterline, water can begin to flood the internal volume. The system detects breach points, estimates floodable space, and increases the internal water level over time.
Flooding affects the vessel physically by adding water mass and reducing effective buoyancy.
Drain Behavior
If the internal water level is higher than the surrounding outside water, openings can allow the vessel to drain. This allows damaged or partially flooded contraptions to recover when positioned correctly.
Ocean and Wave Rendering
Create: High Seas includes custom ocean rendering and wave visuals designed to improve the look and feel of large bodies of water around moving contraptions.
Wind and Water Motion
Wind and wave sampling are used to influence visual wave behavior and physical interaction with vessels, creating a more dynamic maritime environment.
