Sugar Beet is a new crop used for the mod’s sugar-refining chain. Its seeds can rarely be obtained while harvesting vanilla beetroot; once started, the crop can provide further seeds through mechanical processing or by normal means. Once grown, beetroots drop dirty beets, that needs to be washed before being processed. (at the moment only via bulk washing)

Sugar Beet → Beet cossettes → Juice → Thick Juice → Raw Sugar / Molasses → Sugar Crystals → Sugar

(This process can also be applied to vanilla beetroot, with smaller returns but creates raw red sugar, wich is the gravlax cure main ingredient)

Sugar crystals are processed into vanilla sugar through the Millstone or Crushing Wheels. Molasses is not a waste output: it can be processed further through the Steffen method.

Steffen process and material recovery

Molasses still contains recoverable sugar. Through the Steffen process, it can be combined with lime-based reagents to produce Calcium Saccharate, then processed into additional sugar crystals.

Molasses + Lime Water → Calcium Saccharate → Calcium Saccharate Paste → Sugar Crystals

Raw Rock Salt can be found naturally in the overworld and can be mechanically refined into edible Salt, used both for basic savory seasoning and for the mod’s signature curing ingredient: Gravlax Cure.

Salt can also be obtained by evaporating water, and to water it can return: place it near some water sources and it will dissolve, turning them into salt water (in a 3x3 radius).

Use salt to prevent water in your base from freezing around it, or spread it on snow to quickly melt huge areas. Rock salt can also be used to craft a decorative salt lamp 

Use Gravlax Cure on salmon to prepare Gravlax Salmon, a cured food with the Sweet&Sour profile and a Luck effect. With Farmer’s Delight installed, Salmon Slices can be cured into Gravlax Salmon Slices as well.

Gravlax Cure also has a stranger use: processing it through bulk haunting has a chance to produce Redstone.

Evaporator

The Evaporator concentrates fluids used in sugar refining, salt making and potion extraction, including thickened beet juice and Concentrated Potion.

Centrifuge

The Centrifuge is a compact laboratory machine used for specialised separations and essence extraction. It requires at least 128 RPM, processes faster at higher speeds, displays its active recipe above the lid.

Potions can be concentrated in the Evaporator, then separated into crystallised essences in the Centrifuge.

Positive essences are combined with Salt, Sugar or Gravlax Cure to produce culinary Spices. Applied to compatible food, each spice gives the dish a flavour profile and a related effect.

Each flavor profile grants food the original essence effects!

Negative essences are used differently. Turn your milk into Milk Bottles and brew them with nether wart to get Milky Potions. Milk bottles act as stackable milk buckets, removing all effects from the user, Milky potions remove only negative effects. Brewing negative essences into Milky Potion produces targeted remedies.

Farmer’s Delight and its addon Create: Slice and dice are optional, but receive native support when installed

With Farmer’s Delight and Slice and dice present:

• its supported savory and sweet foods can be seasoned with the appropriate spices;
• Salmon Slice can be cured into Gravlax Salmon Slice;
• Sugar Beet can substitute beetroot in selected culinary recipes, including Vegetable Soup and Ratatouille;
• Beets can be cut into cossettes on a chopping board or by a slicer
• Create: Gravlax provides the compatible Milk Bottle used by its own brewing and remedy system.
