Description
Modpack recommendation: If your pack has its own currency, replace the default diamond reward with that currency’s item ID. For progression-focused packs, consider keeping the mining market closed until the Ender Dragon has been defeated. Set chain.item to your chosen reward and enable chain.dragon to require the first dragon defeat. Dragon gating is disabled by default.
Create: Crypto turns rotational power into a share of a server-wide reward pool. Build server racks, install Compute Cards and put your factory’s spare stress capacity to work.
Power drives the economy
Every active rack competes for the same limited supply of rewards. More compute gives you a greater chance of winning, but building more machines does not increase the configured global payout limit.
For modpacks with an item-based currency, this distributes new money through industry. Players who can supply the power, maintain their cards and improve their cooling can earn a larger share. As competing factories expand, everyone competes for the same pool—creating pressure to invest in better infrastructure or use that power elsewhere.
Rewards are probabilistic: a larger market share improves your chances rather than guaranteeing a fixed income.
Build your mining operation
- Build a single-block rack or expand into 1×2×2 and 1×3×3 multiblocks, holding 2, 6 or 10 Compute Cards.
- Connect rotational power at the rear-bottom shaft input. Each working card requires 32 SU per RPM.
- Larger racks provide +20% or +40% compute, and water cooling adds up to another +100%.
- Insert and remove individual cards through the front. Each card has its own durability bar and operating lights.
- Repair exhausted cards by running Broken Compute Cards through the assembly sequence again.
- Automate card handling and reward collection with Create logistics, chutes and hoppers.
- Monitor compute, cooling and market share through Engineer’s Goggles and Display Links.
- Learn the setup and controls through the included Ponder scenes.
Getting started
Run a Train Casing through a Mechanical Saw to make a Server Rack.
To make a Compute Card, start with a Sturdy Sheet or Broken Compute Card, then repeat this sequence 100 times: spout 300 mB of lava, deploy a copper nugget and press. Each finished card requires 30 buckets of lava and 100 copper nuggets.
Right-click the rack’s front with a card to insert it, or use an empty hand to remove one. To collect rewards, click any non-front face with an empty hand, or attach an item extractor.
Configure your market
Use Create’s configuration editor or edit config/create_crypto-server.toml to choose the reward item, global release rate, lottery timing, minimum compute pool, cooling requirements and card lifetime.
By default, the server releases at most one diamond every three seconds. Cards last three hours at 256 RPM without bonuses; higher compute uses durability faster.
Requirements
Requires Minecraft Java 1.21.1, NeoForge and Create 6.0.10. Install Create: Crypto on both the server and every connecting client. Single-player is supported too.
