Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
1.0.4
Better cameras, a real desktop with windows, a power grid that keeps running without you, and a reactor explosion you will not forget.
π₯ Cinematic Reactor Explosion
- Blinding flash with a long orange afterglow, no HUD up close and ringing ears.
- The shock wave arrives at the speed of sound β first silence, then a huge boom up close or rolling thunder far away, heavy camera shake, a punch in the field of view and dust blowing past you.
- Detailed mushroom cloud: billowing cauliflower-like smoke puffs with light tops and dark undersides. It costs much less FPS: less detail far away, no hidden inner faces.
- Afterwards the sky glows orange and the air is dusty. Works up to 900 blocks away.
- Radioactive water: after an explosion all water in the fallout area is radioactive for about 10 days (green bubbles, the Geiger counter reacts).
π Sounds
- New sounds for switches, breakers, relays, blowing fuses, the telephone bell and hanging up, keypad beeps, the printer, computer start-up and valve motors.
- All old sounds rebuilt: richer reactor hum, turbine, centrifuge, converter, alarms, siren, AZ-5, steam, blast door, radio and electric arcs β with room reverb, several variants for short sounds.
πΉ Security Cameras
- Far better picture β the camera renderer was rebuilt: up to 1280 Γ 720 (16Γ the pixels, chosen by window size), the real 16 Γ 16 block textures with transparency (you see through leaves, glass and flowers), the real block shapes (stairs, slabs, fences, doors), the real light (torches and lamps light up the scene, dark caves stay dark), sun shadows following the real sun, sky with sun, moon, stars and clouds, water with reflections and rain fog. Sight range 72 blocks, rendered on several CPU cores. TVs get an anti-aliased picture. At night the camera switches to infrared. Max quality in the config (
cameraQuality). - Players are recognisable on camera: they are drawn as a real Minecraft figure (head, body, arms, legs) with their own skin including the second layer (hat, jacket, sleeves), slim arms for Alex-type skins, turned the way they face, with the head following their view. Every player sends their skin once on joining (works with Steve/Alex and in offline mode).
- Live view with the real Minecraft graphics:
kamera live <name>or "Live ansehen" in the Cameras app puts your view into the camera β look around with the mouse, sneak or Esc to exit. - SecurityCraft: security cameras from SecurityCraft within 48 blocks of a computer appear in its camera list (picture, TVs, live view).
π» Computers
- Servers send over radio: server programs (
rack run) have their own radio number (radio.id()), can send to everyone or to one computer (radio.send(msg, protocol, to)), answer withradio.reply(m, answer), and computers reach a server directly withrednet.send(serverId, ...).radio.receiveunpacks tables and can filter by protocol. - Desktop windows: run several apps at once β drag them by the title bar, minimize, maximize and close; every window has a taskbar button.
- New flat PC monitor with thin bezel and stand β it now updates by itself for everyone nearby, no right-click needed.
- Case fans in the PC tower: two intake fans at the front, one exhaust at the back, spinning with an LED ring in the colour of the CPU tier.
- Print your paintings: "Drucken" in Paint prints the picture on a sheet you can hold or put in an item frame. Printing is animated β the sheet comes out line by line. The printer has a queue for 8 jobs.
- Restart is now visible (the screen goes dark and boots again).
- Shut down: "Herunterfahren" in the start menu, the
shutdowncommand or asking the helper ("fahr den PC herunter") turns the computer off. It stays off until someone right-clicks it (or its monitor). - 3D USB stick: real model with plastic case, metal plug, LED and key loop. Plugged in, it sticks out of the USB port at the front of the PC tower or on the right side of the laptop (the LED blinks while the computer is on). The PC tower has two front USB ports.
- Server rack glass door: open it before you insert or pull out servers; it swings open in the model.
β‘ Power Grid
- Power without players nearby: wires, HV pylons, connectors and laid cables keep their chunks loaded across chunk borders, also after a server restart (
gridChunkLoadingin the config). - Utility poles: 32 wires per insulator and several lines between the same two poles.
- Visible terminals on every device: PC tower, laptop, WiFi router, TVs, camera, printer, telephone, keypad, parcel station, flow meter and valves have real screw terminals on a terminal strip (red +, blue β, copper = data). Holding a wire spool makes all ports nearby glow.
β’οΈ RBMK
- Flare stack: burns flammable fluids β diesel, biodiesel, gasoline, kerosene, naphtha, LPG, ethanol, crude/heavy/plant oil (Create Diesel Generators, TFMG, Crafts & Additions and more, configurable). Pipe the fuel into the base, stack flare stack pipes on top (with ladder, up to 24 high); at the red-white tip a flame burns that grows with the flow and flickers in the wind. Smoke rises from it β thick and black for oil and diesel, lighter for gasoline, almost clean for ethanol and gas. The flame lights up the area at night, roars and sets on fire whoever gets into it. Up to 100 mB/t.
- Steam Turbine (SU): a second steam turbine for the reactor that drives a Create shaft instead of making power. Same steam cycle (steam in, spent steam out to a condenser or cooling tower), with a spinning rotor visible between the rings. Full steam: 256 RPM and 50,000 SU, the speed follows the steam (50 % steam = 128 RPM and 25,000 SU, configurable). The old one is now called "Steam Turbine (Power)". Now needs Create 6.
- The control room needs power: the RBMK control desk uses 40 FE/t (+ and β on the back right, next to the data port). Without power its screens stay black, it can't be used, computers can't read or control the reactor, and the fuel loading crane and core mimic panel stop. If the power fails during operation, the reactor triggers AZ-5. Can be turned off in the config (
controlRoomNeedsPower). - Nicer cooling towers: smooth shading, formwork joints, dirt at the bottom and rain streaks below the crown, a finer concrete texture, red aircraft warning lights, fill packs and water in the basin β and a real plume of steam billowing out of the top and drifting with the wind, as thick as the tower is working.
- Covers are now as flat as a trapdoor, and right-clicking them works on the channel below (insert rods, sneak + right-click to pull them).
- Over a control rod the cover has a slot: a piece of the plate sits on the rod drive and is pushed up when the rod is pulled out.
π Advancements & Ponder
- 14 advancements in their own tab: from "Let There Be Light" and "Hello World" through "Critical Mass" and "RBMK-1000" to the hidden challenges "Not Great, Not Terrible" and "Survivor" (live through the first 30 seconds after a reactor explosion nearby).
- New Ponder scenes (hold W over the item): laying power cables, the electric valve, the cooling tower and powering the control room.
π JEI
- Recipes for the Electronics Workbench (boards and every hardware tier) and the Assembly Bench (PC, server, laptop), info pages for ores, meltdown blocks and blown fuses; every hardware tier shows separately.
π§ Other Changes
- Smaller light switch.
- Visible flow: while a flow meter or electric valve moves fluid, the fluid is shown flowing through the Create pipes on the way (visible in glass pipes).
- New ceiling lamp for living rooms: round opal glass dome with a brass ring, powered and switched like a light bulb (light bulb + 2 glass panes + gold nugget).
- The satellite dish now looks up at the sky.
- Less FPS cost: terminals and PC internals are only drawn up close.
- Removed: one-way glass, projection glass and the room projector.
π Fixes
- Server programs received computer tables only as packed text, and messages meant for one computer reached every server.
- A short power flicker (or loading the world) could trigger AZ-5 at the control desk β now only after 3 s without power.
- Steel, lab and bunker doors could get stuck (e.g. with a redstone signal nearby) β they now always open and close by hand.
- The cinema screen's terminals floated behind the screen.
- The PC monitor still had the big hitbox of the old CRT monitor.
- A printer broken during printing now drops its sheets.
- Desktop windows stay on screen after changing the resolution.
- A PC that was picked up and placed again showed the frozen picture of its old desktop on the monitor (keyboard and Ctrl+T seemed dead) β the screen now always shows the real state.
- Flow meter and electric valve now let fluids through like a pipe: in both directions, and also when a pump sucks from behind them (before, fluid only went in at the back and out at the front).
