What's new

Cozy Contracts 0.3.0-alpha

Cozy Contracts 0.3.0-alpha reworks the Favour Token shop into a much more useful settlement supply market. Instead of a small generic reward list, the shop now sells practical bundles that help players build, farm, cook, and decorate their village.

Highlights

  • Reworked the Favour Token shop into a settlement supply-bundle market.

  • Replaced the old generic reward list with 39 practical supply bundles.

  • Added Shop category tabs:

    • All

    • Village

    • Farming

    • Kitchen

    • Builder

    • Decor

  • Added mouse-wheel scrolling to the Shop tab.

  • Added useful farming, Kitchen, building, decorating, and village supply stock.

  • Kept purchase validation server-side and safe.

New Shop Stock

The shop now includes practical bundle-style supplies such as:

  • Dirt bundles

  • Log bundles

  • Stone and sand bundles

  • Glass, clay, brick, and stone brick bundles

  • Farming supplies such as crops, seeds, hay bales, bone meal, and saplings

  • Kitchen supplies such as sugar, eggs, milk, cocoa beans, wheat, charcoal, bowls, and bottles

  • Builder materials such as stone, sand, glass, clay, bricks, stone bricks, and scaffolding

  • Decorator supplies such as candles, wool, dyes, flowers, leaves, terracotta, and flower pots

  • Village goods such as Name Tags, Bells, Saddles, and Lantern bundles

The goal is to let players spend Favour Tokens on useful settlement supplies without turning the shop into a creative-mode catalogue or selling major progression skips.

Shop UI Improvements

  • Added category filter tabs inside the Shop tab.

  • Added filters for All, Village, Farming, Kitchen, Builder, and Decor.

  • Switching filters resets the shop scroll position to the top.

  • Kept the existing two-column shop layout.

  • Kept item counts visible in bundle names.

  • Added the helper line: “Spend Favour Tokens on settlement supplies.”

Balance and Safety

  • Purchases remain server-authoritative.

  • Favour Token payment remains count-first and atomic.

  • Invalid or unavailable shop item IDs are rejected server-side.

  • Purchased items still enter the player inventory when possible.

  • If the inventory is full, leftover purchased items drop near the player.

  • Direct contract and Kitchen input items are priced to avoid positive token loops.

What This Update Does Not Add

This update does not add:

  • Full districts

  • Settlement development tracks

  • Nearby block detection for shop unlocks

  • Prosperity

  • Storehouse

  • Village Bond

  • Community Projects

  • Resident Profiles

  • Taste Preferences

  • Village Network

  • Shop JSON loading

Shop categories are not unlocked by placing composters, smokers, flowers, or other blocks around the Community Board. That design was avoided because it would encourage block spam. Future versions may unlock themed shop stock through deliberate settlement development tracks and Community Projects instead.

Compatibility

Cozy Contracts remains standalone.

Optional support is unchanged:

  • Farmer’s Delight adds optional board contracts and Kitchen orders.

  • Create: Food adds optional board contracts and Kitchen orders.

  • JEI is optional and useful for recipe viewing, but not required.

Known Limitations

  • This is still an alpha build.

  • Shop prices are alpha balance values and may change after playtesting.

  • All current supply bundles are visible for now.

  • Full district-driven shop progression is not implemented yet.

  • Community Kitchen is still basic and does not yet include residents or taste preferences.

  • Prosperity, Storehouse, Village Bond, Community Projects, Village Network, and Resident Profiles are future systems.
