CoreInfection-1.21.1-1.9.1-neoforge
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
- Phases 1-4 are plant stages now. No more mine, quarry, pyramids, armory, observatory, farm, bread, crafted tools or shopping lists. Rooting: the root ring spreads from the crater and the first Gardeners climb out to feed the Core living matter from the first minute. Budding: the shell grows itself from the start. Awakening: the Gardeners garden - the Grafting Root (the old Crafter) grows Core Saplings from biomass, the Gardeners plant a grove on the veins and feed whole trees back; the first worm comes out. Revelation: the roots dig a taproot and the arms spread. The storage room is the Bulb. Units break blocks with claws that grow stronger by phase. Glow Pods light the dome instead of torches. Old worlds carry on (mines and rooms stay as blocks, nobody tends them).
- The game never explains itself in text any more. No action-bar lines, no narrator chat, nothing flashed on screen. A Wrapping Vine's coils visibly loosen with each hit from inside and snap on the fourth. The madness is shown by a heartbeat that quickens toward the Core, the screen pulsing with it, a sway, gasps, and damage inside its reach instead of a wall. A claimed chest grows roots. Items stuck to a web lie on it.
- The Field Guide "What Fell Here" and the Message Capsule: 30 seconds after you first join, a small scorched pod tumbles down nearby with the guide and a Core Detector inside. The Detector shows one line per phase with the numbers. A phase change plays a sting. Every item has a lore line. A named mob's or a player's Ascended Tree keeps the name above it (and the player's skin).
- Guardian III is nomadic: no web; it rests by a different tree each day, heals on the way, hunts on sight. Guardian I's large web is one orb web, hidden until something is on it.
- Your calls: the colony digests faster each phase (60 a minute times the phase from Phase 3); thralls and sick animals ignore Creative and Spectator players and set out for a player only on a 1-in-10 roll; the Lens is creative-only; the Seedpod Launcher's hitbox fits its model; no egg icon in Jade; advancements reworded in the designer's voice ("That was NOT an Invitation", "Eggshell", "Fog - That IS fog, right?", "Where there's a web...", "Something From Another World").
- Removed: the anti-plant tools, Pod Alloy and the creature drops; the two old sponge items; the campfire-smoke and frost cures (the Gas Mask keeps the seeds out). Jade shows Guardians and vines with what they are doing.
- Old config files get the new defaults (numbers you changed yourself are kept).
