Config Reconciler 0.4.0 - Beta
This release adds opt-in management of the Minecraft instance's root `options.txt` for Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge. Pack authors can ship a managed default at `config/config_reconciler/defaults/@game/options.txt`. The mod merges independent player and pack setting changes, backs up the old, player, and incoming versions, and reports same-key conflicts using the configured conflict policy.
Existing config merging remains unchanged. Install only the JAR for the active loader. Fabric API is not required. Do not also include managed targets in launcher overrides, because the launcher can overwrite player files before the mod starts.
Validation: 40 unit tests and representative dedicated-server smoke checks for Fabric 1.21.1, Forge 1.20.4, and NeoForge 1.21.1. Each loader check exercises startup and a two-launch JSON/TOML/options.txt merge. It does not verify every listed Minecraft version or the client GUI. No new Minecraft versions are added in this release.
The mod does not manage per-world `serverconfig/`. JSON arrays remain atomic values, and TOML arrays of tables and multiline strings are not merged. Test pack updates on a copy before distributing them.
Our code uses the MIT License. The JAR includes the third-party parser license notices.
Loader: NeoForge. Supported Minecraft versions: 1.20.6, 1.21.1, 1.21.4, 1.21.5, 1.21.8, 1.21.10, 1.21.11, 26.1.2, 26.2.
