Composter Chime is a lightweight, server-friendly quality-of-life mod for the vanilla composter. What it does Whenever a composter produces bone meal (the exact moment it fills from level 7 to level 8), it now: - Plays a configurable chime sound within 16 blocks. - Spawns green happy-villager particles. - Emits a temporary redstone pulse (strength 15, 20 ticks) readable by a comparator, so you can fully automate bone meal collection. This fixes the "silent overflow" problem - vanilla composters produce bone meal with no feedback, which often leaves it sitting there unused. Why it works correctly - Triggers only on the precise 7 -> 8 level transition, never on a full composter that was already emptied. No false triggers when you take the bone meal and add more later. - Fully event-driven (no per-tick polling), so there is zero impact on server TPS. - Works with hoppers, droppers, and manual clicks - every input source triggers the same way. - A per-composter cooldown (default 30 seconds) prevents sound spam from fast hopper lines. - Server-safe: the logic runs on the server and only sends audio/visual feedback to nearby players. Configuration Everything is configurable in the config file (composterchime-common.toml): - chimeVolume (default 0.8) - cooldownSeconds (default 30) - enableSound (default true) - enableParticles (default true) - enableRedstone (default true) - playRange (default 16) - customSoundId (default minecraft:block.note_block.pling) - redstonePulseTicks (default 20) Compatibility - Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47.2.20+. - Respects the compostable-items registry, so modded compostable items trigger it too. - No new items, blocks, or world changes - purely an enhancement.
