Combat Evolution Fix

Combat Evolution Fix is a server-side bugfix mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 that prevents crashes caused by invalid or missing animations in Combat Evolution and Epic Fight.

Features

Prevents animation-related crashes: Handles NullPointerException errors caused by missing or invalid animation references.

Covers multiple animation types: Prevents crashes involving guard-hit animations, counterattacks, and other animation requests.

Diagnostic warnings: Logs warnings identifying the affected mob and the code location that requested the missing animation, helping locate incorrectly configured datapacks.

Minimal gameplay impact: When an animation is missing, the affected animation is skipped instead of crashing the game. The mob may not perform the intended animation.

Side

Dedicated servers: Install on the server only. Clients do not need this mod.

Singleplayer / LAN: Install it in the client instance, as it also runs the integrated server.

Note: This mod is a compatibility fix, not a replacement for correcting broken animation references in Combat Evolution datapacks or addons. It prevents certain crashes but does not repair the missing animations themselves.
