What's new

On a server nobody is standing on, MineColonies stops holding its colonies loaded after a while. The evening bed check did not know that. Once every game evening - every twenty real minutes - it walked every registered bed of every colony, and reading a block out of a chunk that is not loaded makes the game load that chunk on the spot and drop it again a couple of ticks later. So an empty server loaded and dropped some thirty chunks around each colony every twenty minutes, for nothing. Nothing broke, but the disk was busy for no reason and anything that logs chunk unloads filled the log with it - MineColonies 1.1.1403's cavalry-horse debug line (CavHorse left level ... reason=null, with a full stack trace) every twenty minutes, around the clock, for each horse standing in a stable that got loaded that way.

The bed check only looks at what is already loaded. Every block it reads is checked against the loaded chunks first, and the evening scan does not even start unless at least one colony's centre is in memory. A bed in a chunk that is not loaded is never judged "gone" and never repaired; it is looked at on an evening when somebody is there. With players near a colony nothing changes - beds are repaired and reported the same way as before.

Nothing else changed. The other checks read citizens that are already in the world, not blocks, so they never loaded anything.

Checked on a headless test server (MineColonies 1.1.1403, tools/bedchurn): with a colony out of memory at dusk, 3.0.0-beta.2 loaded four chunks and dropped them three ticks later, 3.0.0-beta.3 loads none; and once the colony is held in memory, 3.0.0-beta.3 still drops a registered bed that is gone, as before.
