As I used the Pokedex in Cobblemon there were always things that I felt were fairly simple (or not so simple) changes that would feel good to have. So I decided to try and make a mod to add those things:

Advanced searching

• You can now search the Pokedex using special filters. Includes the following (with examples):
• Name: name:pikachu, name=charizard
• Types: type:fire, t:fire, type=ice
• Primary type: t1:fire, t1=water
• Secondary type: t2:flying, t2=rock
• Form: form:alola, f=galar
• Label: label:gen1, l:baby
• Pokédex number: dex:25 or num:100
• Stats: hp, atk, def, spa, spd, spe, and bst
• Stat+Number comparisons: =, >, <, >=, and <=, such as bst>=500 or dex<=151
• Encountered shiny forms: shiny
• Combine filters using AND, OR, parentheses, and - to exclude matches. (AND isn't actually required, since by default it combines searches, but I included it anyway)
  • Example: (t1:fire OR t1:water) AND -form:normal Searches for Pokemon that are fire or water type, but only if they have a form besides their base form.

Search result previews

• Show previews of forms matching your search in the results list.
• Automatically select a matching form when opening an entry.
• Display shiny appearances when applicable (enter shiny as a search term)

Improved search text editing

• Much longer search text.
• Click to position the text cursor.
• Highlight and drag to select text.
• Right-click to clear the search box.
• Clicking the search box without changing its text preserves your position and results in the dex (no longer jumps to the very top if you accidentally click it).

Scroll shortcuts

• Use the mouse wheel to cycle through regions, forms, abilities, riding styles. Hover over the related text or the Pokémon's model in the dex and scroll to do so.
• Can also right-click variant buttons to cycle backwards, or hover the button and scroll to go through them easier.

Base stat totals

• Display the selected form’s BST beside the Base Stats heading when viewing a Pokémon's stats.
• Customize the BST text color in the config.

Evolution tree improvements (These will be removed if Cobblemon is updated to fix these issues)

• Prevent invalid evolution data from crashing the game when viewing the evolution tree in the Pokedex.
  • Instead of crashing, shows an error message inside the evolution panel when a tree cannot render.
  • Writes detailed diagnostics to latest.log to help mod/datapack authors resolve the issue.
• Trim cyclic evolution chains before they repeat and attempts to make the dex display them somewhat as intended.
• Look up possible evolution entries in all loaded dexes as well, not just the National dex.

Other

• Preserve the selected region, Pokémon, form, search text, and scroll position when resizing the window.
• Detailed config that lets you toggle or customize individual features.

AI Disclosure

AI was used in the making of this mod. The initial version of the mod was fully AI generated as I learned what Mixins were and how to use them. I eventually went back and modified some of the code by hand, but a large chunk of it is still AI generated.
