MissingNo 0.2.6 — Initial CurseForge Release
This is the first CurseForge publication of Cobblemon MissingNo — Mega & Admin. It includes the complete development history from 0.1.0 through 0.2.6. Earlier versions were internal test builds.
Target platform: Minecraft 1.21.1, Fabric, and Abe’s Hutts Cobblemon 1.0.5, based on Cobblemon 1.7.3. Install MissingNo on both client and server. Release type: Beta.
0.1.0 — Initial addon
- Added MissingNo as a custom Pokémon species with an original L-shaped model, pixel-art textures, sprites, animations, and an initial Mega form.
- Added an administrator profile with 10,000 in all six final stats by default, locked to level 100 and configurable through OP commands.
- Added commands to give regular or admin MissingNo, spawn a regular MissingNo, inspect its stats, and switch its form.
- Added control over natural spawning, disabled by default, with settings saved per world.
- Added flying mounts using Cobblemon’s native flight controller and dedicated rider seats.
- Added adjustable maximum flight speed from 2 to 32 blocks per second, with a default of 12.
- Added operator-only configuration and diagnostic commands, requiring permission level 2.
0.2.0 — Native Mega Evolution
- Replaced the initial command-driven Mega approach with Abe’s Hutts’ native Mega Evolution system for battle transformations.
- Added two native Mega Stones: MissingNoite (
missingno:missingnoite) and Admin MissingNoite (missingno:missingnoite_admin). - Added native battle integration: the matching held stone, required bracelet or Key Stone conditions, and the Mega option in the battle menu.
- Kept the stones reusable; a stone only works with its matching regular or admin variant.
- Separated the admin Pokémon into its own species so native Mega Evolution preserves its configured admin stats.
- Added automatic migration of legacy 0.1 admin profiles, preserving Pokémon identity and removing obsolete forced form aspects.
- Added the OP Key Stone unlock command and support for equipping the matching stone through the Mega command.
0.2.1 — ZAMega compatibility fix
- Fixed the native reversion failure encountered with ZAMega 1.7.5-hotfix, which could leave MissingNo unavailable after startup checks.
- Corrected MissingNo’s return to its regular form when the shared Mega feature definition omits the normal-form value.
- Preserved the held stone, Pokémon identity, and fainted state during reversion.
- Kept active native battle transformations under the battle engine’s control.
0.2.2 — Held-stone transformation outside battle
- Added automatic Mega transformation outside battle when MissingNo holds the stone matching its variant.
- Removing the stone, or equipping the wrong variant’s stone, restores the regular form outside battle.
- Updated the OP Mega command to equip or remove the matching stone and apply the outside-battle form immediately.
- Added held-item event handling and form synchronization when sending out, recalling, or reloading MissingNo.
- Restored the regular form before battle team preparation, allowing Mega Evolution to be selected through the native battle menu.
- Restored the outside-battle Mega form after battle cleanup when the matching stone remains held.
- Deferred transformations that would change the rider seat while MissingNo is mounted.
- Added checks for outside-battle transformation, save/load persistence, injured HP, and fainted Pokémon.
0.2.3 — Split Comet visual redesign
- Introduced the Split Comet Mega design, developed by GPT-6 Astra Ultra.
- Added four swept wings, a diamond-shaped face, floating crown fragments, and a broken tail recalling MissingNo’s L-shaped silhouette.
- Updated the Mega model, textures, emissive layer, sprite, and animations.
- Added distinct idle and flight poses while keeping the rider-seat hierarchy unanimated.
0.2.4 — Corrupted Comet visual redesign
- Evolved the Mega design into Corrupted Comet, with a stronger glitch identity.
- Added fractured wing sections, displaced volumes, a broken diamond frame, separated body layers, and an asymmetric tail.
- Reworked memory patterns and interrupted color signals to make the corruption visible in both geometry and textures.
- Retained the vivid graphite, ivory, cyan, magenta, and gold palette; the experimental muted palette was not included.
- Updated the Mega sprite and animations while preserving gameplay data and the rider seat.
0.2.5 — Mew base stats for regular MissingNo
- Changed regular MissingNo to 100 in all six base stats, matching Mew for a total of 600.
- Applied the same base stats to its non-admin Mega form.
- Kept native level, IV, EV, and nature calculations for regular Pokémon; final stats are not forced to 100.
- Preserved the separate admin profile and its configurable final stats.
0.2.6 — Native-style Mega Stone artwork
- Redesigned both MissingNoites as original 16 × 16 round stones matching the visual style of Abe’s Hutts’ Mega Stones.
- Added a subtle grey outline, glass highlights, cyan/magenta inclusions, and a graphite core.
- Distinguished the admin stone with two gold pixels.
- Preserved item identifiers, Mega Evolution behavior, and gameplay settings.
Spawning in this release
Natural spawning remains disabled by default. Server operators can enable it with /missingno spawning true and disable it with /missingno spawning false.
When enabled, only regular MissingNo spawns naturally: Overworld, on the ground, with an unobstructed sky, at levels 40–60, in the ultra-rare bucket. The spawn table adds no biome, time, or weather restriction. Admin and Mega variants do not spawn naturally. Manual OP spawning remains available when natural spawning is disabled.
Requirements and compatibility
- Abe’s Hutts Cobblemon 1.0.5 for Cobblemon 1.7.3.
- Fabric API for Minecraft 1.21.1.
- Fabric Language Kotlin 1.13.6+kotlin.2.2.20 or newer.
- Trinkets 3.10.0 for Minecraft 1.21.1.
- Fabric Loader 0.17.2 or newer and Java 21 or newer.
Abe’s Hutts replaces the official Cobblemon JAR: install a single Cobblemon provider. This release requires the fork and supports Fabric only.
Mega Showdown and ZAMega are optional. The tested optional combination used Mega Showdown 1.9.3+1.7.3+1.21.1 and ZAMega 1.7.5-hotfix, with their dependencies. With Mega Showdown, equip its Mega Bracelet in Accessories; the OP Key Stone unlock alone does not replace that bracelet.
Verification
For 0.2.6, documented checks include 13 JUnit tests, 6 asset checks, and 9 Windows installer tests on simulated directories. Native battle, stat, migration, and persistence checks were performed on 0.2.2 with Abe’s Hutts alone and with the tested Mega Showdown/ZAMega combination. Graphical rendering and the complete modpack still need in-game verification.
