Cobblemon Mid-Battle EXP
In the games, the Pokémon that knocks out the first opponent grows right there — and fights the next one stronger. In Cobblemon, every point of experience waits until the battle is over. This mod brings the knockout back.
What it does
- Experience at every knockout. Your Pokémon are paid the moment an opponent faints, not when the battle ends. Exp. Share, Lucky Egg and every other bonus still apply, EVs arrive at the same moment, and nothing is ever paid twice — the total is what Cobblemon would have given you.
- A level-up counts right away. The Pokémon that levels mid-battle carries its new stats and its extra HP into the rest of the fight, and keeps the stat boosts it already set up. A teammate on the bench that leveled through Exp. Share switches in at its new level.
- Learn the move, before the next turn. A move unlocked mid-battle is learned on the spot when there is room. When the Pokémon already knows four, a screen opens: drag the new move into the moveset, or send it to the move pool. A forgotten move goes to the move pool and keeps its PP Ups.
- Everything in the battle log. The EXP gained, the level reached, the stats that rose and the moves learned or skipped — told to the Pokémon's owner, and nobody else.
There is nothing to configure and no command to learn: install it and fight. Evolution still waits for the battle to end, as it always has.
Requirements
Minecraft 1.21.1, on Fabric or NeoForge, with Cobblemon (CurseForge) 1.7 or 1.8 — the same jar runs on both.
Requires Architectury API (CurseForge). On Fabric it also needs Fabric Language Kotlin (CurseForge); on NeoForge, Kotlin for Forge (CurseForge).
Install it on the server, and on the clients of the players who want the move screen — without it on their side, the screen simply does not open.
