Cobblemon Insight

See what you're up against, and what to catch it with, without leaving the fight.

Cobblemon Insight is a lightweight, client-side only addon for Cobblemon. Look at any wild or opposing Cobblemon and two small overlays appear on your screen: a type matchup breakdown, and a live catch-chance readout for every Poke Ball in your inventory.

No server installation needed, just install it on your own client.

Type Matchup Panel

Look at a Cobblemon to instantly see:

• Its name and type(s)
• Every type it's 4x and 2x weak to
• Every type it resists (1/2x and 1/4x)
• Every type it's immune to

Choose whether types are shown as text, Cobblemon's own type emblems, or both.

Catch Chance Panel

Carrying Poke Balls? The second panel lists every ball you own with its estimated capture chance, calculated from a from-scratch recreation of Cobblemon's actual capture formula, not a rough guess*.

It accounts for:

• Catch rate, HP, status conditions, and critical capture odds (factoring in your Pokedex completion)
• In-battle turn-based bonuses for Quick Ball, Timer Ball, Level Ball, and Love Ball
• Repeat Ball's bonus based on your Pokedex catch history
• World-state bonuses for Moon Ball, Dusk Ball, Dive Ball, Safari Ball, Park Ball, and Lure Ball
• All balls tied for the highest odds are highlighted together, so you always know your best option(s)

An option lets you exclude guaranteed-catch balls (like the Master Ball) from the comparison, which is on by default.

Fully Configurable

Everything is configurable from an in-game config screen (NeoForge's Mods menu, or Mod Menu + Cloth Config on Fabric):

• Show/hide the Cobblemon's name, types, and matchup breakdown independently
• Position each panel anywhere on screen: top, bottom, left, right or any of the four corners
• Choose a size for each panel: Small, Medium, Large, or Extra Large
• The two panels never overlap, even if you put them in the same spot
• Display mode (text, emblems, or both) is configurable separately for types and Poke Balls

Translated

The config screen and in-game overlays are fully localized into 11 languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), German, French, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Polish and Dutch.

• Cobblemon 1.8.0+
• Fabric only: Fabric API, Fabric Language Kotlin, Cloth Config API, and Mod Menu (for the config screen)

* A Note on Accuracy

Catch chances are computed client-side using a faithful reconstruction of Cobblemon's capture mechanics. They're intended as a strong estimate to guide your ball choice, not a guaranteed exact percentage in every edge case.
