What's new

0.29.5 (Minecraft 1.20.1) / 0.9.7 (Minecraft 1.21.1)

One changelog for everything since the last upload. Forge 1.20.1 users: this covers 0.27.0 → 0.29.5 (last upload: 0.26.2). Fabric 1.20.1 and Fabric/NeoForge 1.21.1 users: it also includes the whole 0.26.2 / 0.6.3 package (last uploads: 0.22.1 and 0.2.1) — see the "From older versions" part at the end.

EN

Pokémon Egg (new block). A mating pair leaves a Pokémon Egg with a 3D model; shell and spots take the colors of the type of what will hatch. Right-click it with an empty hand to pick it up and place it again; the tooltip shows what will hatch, its type and the time left (the timer only runs while it is placed). If you take, hit or break a wild pair's egg, the parents chase and hit you for 15 s (7.5 s if you only hit it). The first stage of the line hatches, with your shiny odds if you placed it.

New and reworked instincts

  • Psyduck headache: every hit raises the headache (purple particles and a pulse that keeps beating). At the 4th hit, low health or a very heavy hit it bursts: it launches the players and Pokémon around with slow fall, then leaves them dizzy with little birds. Only after the burst can it teleport away. Optional psychic charge mode, off by default.
  • Cocoons and caterpillars: the silk thread is now drawn by the mod (a thin white line from the cocoon up to the leaf) instead of the vanilla leash, so it no longer enters the cocoon's face. Caterpillars flee more discreetly.
  • Dream Eater: with a bed, Drowzee/Hypno hover over the head of the bed so you can see it from the pillow.
  • Sap Tree: the Pokémon stands on the ground against the trunk face, looking at the trunk, outside the block (no darkening).
  • Treasure scent: it turns toward the block and shows a cyan "?" when it starts digging.
  • Warden sense: tension drips above the head, like Mimic.
  • Kamikaze: smoke cloud on every explosion; electric types add sparks on the fuse and in the blast.
  • Snowball play: the snowball pushes the player it hits (no damage).
  • Shellder: longer attach before evolving (3 s attached + a 5 s sequence); it glows during it, with its own emissive texture layer.
  • Scavengers use Cobblemon's flying pose while circling.
  • Campfire warmth: Fire and Normal types sit near the campfire (never on top of it); Ice types move away from lit campfires.
  • Predation: the hunter keeps biting until the prey is dead. Diglett fusion: 1/3, 2/3, 3/3 shown on every counted hit. Village guardian: fights until defeated and turns on whoever hits it. Natural rivalry: the loser flees and the winner lets it go. Blinding ink: a reaction to being hit, even mid-fight; flees at low health. Smelt ore: throws the ore next to it when hit (stronger each hit). Extinguish fire: panic mode with 3+ fires.
  • Mimikyu's disguise is more visible; Coraza (Forge/NeoForge only, off by default): progressive defense while a Fortress is equipped, up to 90 %.
  • Experimental, off by default: magnetic shrapnel (Alpha-tagged wild Pokémon), Agility zigzag dashes, Unown glyphs. Sudowoodo/Bonsly embedded lighting.
  • 1.21.1: Zangoose and Seviper are left to Cobblemon 1.8.3 (their own fight). The sprint controller works with Cobblemon 1.7.3 with a fallback when Cobble Strike is missing.

Fixes

  • Fixed a world-save crash (ConcurrentModificationException) when a chunk unloaded while a thief carried loot; stolen items are no longer duplicated when changing dimension.
  • Fixed an initialization error of 0.27.0 that broke Forge client events and the resource reload.
  • Fixed items of the Pokémon on wrong hands, Mimikyu's disguise with several observers, and several small Test Lab corrections (frost walk, lantern, magnetize, steal, mimic tree, climb).
  • Config upgraded to v41 (1.21.1) / v39 (1.20.1); your own settings are kept and the previous file is backed up as .bak.

From older versions (Fabric 1.20.1 from 0.22.1, Fabric/NeoForge 1.21.1 from 0.2.1): 47+ new instincts, Nature/Ability personality, a new Client/Server config menu, intensity and difficulty profiles, world protection, new commands, the thief duplication fix with configurable targets, and a more conservative default for recent untested instincts on 1.21.1 (49 entries off; the old file is backed up as behaviors.json.bak-v33; re-enable what you want and run /cobbleinstincts reload).

Beta: not tested in a live client or server yet. 1.21.1 needs Java 21 and Cobblemon 1.7+ (Fabric: Fabric API and Fabric Language Kotlin too). 1.20.1 needs Cobblemon 1.5.2.

Developer: new content/ package (egg block, block entity, item, tint), VisualState.thread + packet field for the silk thread, CobblemonBridge.setFlying/setInstinctAspect, OreShots overload with fiery, CsData roles for Cobble Strike, no new Mixins beyond EmbeddedLightMixin. Full notes in PORTING.md.
