Coasters: Immersion 1.1.0
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Coasters: Immersion 1.1.0
Client-side only. Install it on your own game; no server needed.
Smoother carts
- Fixed carts freezing and then teleporting ahead. When the server lagged for a moment, carts stopped dead and then jumped several blocks forward in a single frame. Playback now works like a video buffer: it slows down gently when the server falls behind and catches up slightly faster, instead of stopping and jumping.
- Fixed the small 20 Hz shudder in the cart's rotation. The old curve slowed the turning down to zero at every server tick. It now uses a proper rotation curve, and position takes uneven server ticks into account.
- Smooth motion every frame, also in third person. Cars, riders and anything on the train follow the curve at the exact moment of every frame instead of stepping 20 times per second.
Camera
- The launch punch now only fires on real launches: strong, sustained acceleration (around 0–100 km/h in 2–4 seconds). Lift hills, drops and station departures no longer trigger it.
- The neck no longer leans back on lift hills. It reacts to actually gaining speed, not to being pressed into the seat on a slope.
Body
- G-force vision: sustained high G greys out and narrows your vision from the edges; negative G turns it red. It builds up with how long the force lasts, not just the peak.
- Heartbeat that speeds up on the lift hill and under high G.
- Body realism slider for all of it. At 100 it gets genuinely dizzying.
Park sounds
Real recordings only (CC0, credited in CREDITS-sonidos.md). They never duplicate Simulated Coasters' rolling sound.
- Chain lift: a real steel coaster chain recording, looping from the train while it climbs, heard from the train and from the park. One per train.
- Heartbeat: a real heartbeat recording for the body effects.
- Tunnels: wind drops and the track rumbles inside a tunnel.
Settings
- New settings screen: everything on one page, looking like Minecraft's own settings, with foldable sections, a search box and a simple/advanced view. The description of whatever you hover is shown in a fixed bar at the bottom.
- Five new presets: Recommended, Comfort (for motion sickness), Cinema (for recording), Realistic and Performance. Your own values are kept as Custom when you try one.
- Reset buttons: every setting has a ↺ button next to it that puts it back to its original value (it only lights up when you have changed it), and Reset all puts everything back to factory values after asking. Your values are kept as Custom.
- Settings save immediately when you change them, to
config/coasters_immersion-client.toml. The "Open file" button opens it.
Performance
- Adaptive quality: if you drop below your target FPS (60 by default), motion blur and air streaks lower themselves, and come back when there is headroom.
Removed
- The test ride in the settings screen.
- Ride music and its commands.
