Cloning Bug
Cloning Bug is a resource-generation mod built around a self-replicating anomalous parasite.
The parasite can multiply inside the player's inventory, spread into new stacks, and cause negative effects when left uncontrolled. Players can capture the organisms inside a containment bag, feed the colony, reproduce parasites under controlled conditions, and use them as biological material to duplicate items.
Main Features
- A self-replicating parasite item.
- Parasites spread through the player's inventory over time.
- Loose parasites can cause hunger and damage.
- Overflowing parasites can create new stacks or fall into the world.
- A containment bag capable of storing an internal parasite population.
- Persistent parasite and nutrient values stored inside each bag.
- Food can be converted into nutrients.
- Contained parasites reproduce when enough nutrients are available.
- Parasites can be extracted from the containment bag.
- A dynamic crafting recipe that duplicates an item using a parasite.
- Item data, enchantments, custom names, and other components are preserved during duplication.
How It Works
The basic gameplay cycle is:
Find or create a parasite
↓
Control its uncontrolled reproduction
↓
Store it inside a containment bag
↓
Feed the colony
↓
Produce additional parasites
↓
Use parasites to duplicate resources
The parasite is both a resource and a threat. Leaving it loose allows it to spread, while proper containment turns it into a biological resource-production system.
Requirements
