**Clay Soldiers Remoulded 1.2.0 - Minecraft 1.21.1 (Fabric)**
This is the first Clay Soldiers Remoulded file for Minecraft 1.21.1. It has the same features as the 26.2 and 26.3
files. This version adds the keep, a small stone fort that raises and arms soldiers for one team. The list below
is what changed since 1.1.1, the last release for 26.2 and 26.3.
**The keep**
* A small stone keep with a wooden palisade round it. To craft it, put clay ball, diamond, clay ball on the top
row, soul sand, stone bricks, soul sand on the middle row, and three stone bricks on the bottom row.
* It needs a clear, level space 3 blocks by 3. Placing it builds a spruce palisade round the keep, with a tower at
each corner and a gatehouse facing you.
* Right-click it to load it: a soldier doll (the team it fights for), a mount doll, something to throw, and up to six
kinds of gear.
* Troop spawning: switch it on with the button on the keep's screen, or with a redstone pulse. Once it is on, the
keep holds up to 10 of its own soldiers at a time within 64 blocks. It checks every 2 seconds and sends one out of
its gate every quarter second until it has 10 again. They march out one behind another, 3 blocks past the gate,
and then each goes its own way. Each soldier rides out on the loaded mount and takes one of each kind of gear it
can use. The mount doll is never used up, but each piece of gear is.
* Throwing: the keep throws its ammo every one and a half seconds at an enemy within 16 blocks, lobbing it over its
own walls when it has to. Its ammo is gravel, snowballs, fire charges, eggs or emeralds, and is never used up.
Throwing has its own button and works whether troop spawning is on or off.
* The flag on the keep flies while troop spawning is on and hangs at half-mast while it is off. The windows light
up while it is on. The keep's screen shows the same flag, the keep's health and the state of each wall section.
* The gate opens for the keep's own soldiers and stays shut to everyone else.
**Sieges**
* Enemy soldiers within 24 blocks that have no one to fight and nothing to pick up come for the keep, on foot or
mounted. They hack at the gate or the wall (40 health a section), and once through, at the keep (80 health). One
unarmed soldier brings the keep itself down in about 40 seconds, and one with a stick in about 11.
* When the keep reaches zero, the team that struck the last blow captures it. The keep is whole again, and the doll
in it becomes theirs.
* A clay ball mends the keep by 20, and a stick mends a wall section by 8. When no enemy is within 16 blocks, the
keep's own soldiers rebuild its wall, each adding 1 health a second, before they go to storm an enemy keep. A
broken section waits until nobody is standing where it would go.
* The keep throws at soldiers of other teams, and at traitors (ender pearl) and berserkers (nether wart) of any
team. It never throws at a soldier carrying wheat or a fermented spider eye.
* The wall and gate can't be mined or moved by pistons, and explosions and withers don't break them. Break the keep
to take the whole fortress down. The keep drops itself and everything loaded in it.
* Once a side of the wall or the gate is down, attackers go through the gap for the keep. They hack a wall only
when it stands in their way, not the towers beside the gap.
* Clay spiders can't climb a keep's wall.
* Soldiers and mounts that a keep raises leave no doll when they die.
**Balance**
Every fight was measured duel by duel. A fight between two unarmed soldiers still takes about 11 seconds.
* Fire now adds to a fight. Before, each second a soldier burned took the place of a blow instead of adding to it,
so coal added nothing at all and a blaze rod hit softer than a stick. Now a soldier with coal or a nether brick
beats an unarmed one with about half its health left, a blaze rod is a match for a stick, and a red mushroom's
poison and a fire charge's flames add their damage too.
* A diamond gives a soldier four times the health (80) instead of ten times, and a diamond block ten times (200)
instead of eighty. A diamond soldier still beats one with a stick, and a diamond-block soldier beats one with a
bone with over half its health left.
* Soldiers throw much better:
- Their throws now fly the right arc to the target, and lead one that is moving. Before, anything thrown further
than about 5 blocks fell short.
- They throw once a second instead of every one and a half seconds.
- A soldier with something to throw keeps its distance. It throws from up to 10 blocks away and backs off from an
enemy that comes within 8, a little slower than the enemy runs, so it is caught in the end and fights hand to
hand. Against an enemy it would outrun, such as one slowed by its snowballs, it stands its ground.
- A soldier with gravel now beats an unarmed one with about half its health left. A soldier with a stick still
beats it most of the time.
**Fixes and changes**
* A soldier no longer walks straight at an enemy it cannot see, such as one on the other side of a wall. Before, it
pressed itself against the wall and hopped there.
* Soldiers no longer wander off. Before, they strolled a few blocks at a time with nothing to bring them back, and
over time they could end up far away.
- A soldier raised by a keep strolls within 12 blocks of it when it has nothing to do, and walks back after a
fight or after fetching something.
- A soldier you place yourself stands guard where it is. It still fights and picks things up, but it does not
stroll. When a keep of its own team is within 24 blocks, whether placed there or captured by its team, the
soldier makes that keep its home and stays near it.
- If its keep is broken or captured by another team, the soldier looks for another keep of its team within 24
blocks, or else stands guard.
- Soldiers already in your world stand guard until a keep of their team is near.
* The disruptor now clears soldiers up to 32 blocks away in every direction, and the hardened disruptor up to 64.
Before, they reached 16 and 32. Both have a new icon.
* The soldier dolls are now small 3D models of the soldier they place: in the inventory, in your hand, on the
ground and in item frames. A loaded keep shows the same little soldier on its top, and the keep's screen shows a
faded doll and horse in its empty doll and mount slots.
* The mount dolls have new icons with an outline and shading, so the grey and pale ones no longer fade into the
inventory slot.
* The shear blade has been removed, along with its two recipes (a blade from shears, and shears from two blades).
Shear blades already in a world disappear, and a soldier holding one loses it.
* Every Clay Soldiers recipe now shows in the recipe book once you hold one of its ingredients. Before, a
recipe only appeared there after you had crafted it once.
* The creative tab now starts with the keep, then the tools, then the soldier dolls and the brick doll, then the
mounts.
* Soldiers no longer join a scoreboard team. They saved their team under the same name the game uses for
scoreboard teams, so on a server with a team called "red", every red soldier joined it. For map makers: the
summon tag is now SoldierTeam. The old Team tag still works.
* Seven upgrades were drawn on the soldier as a different one: glowstone as a stick, an ender pearl as a blaze rod,
a glistering melon as a gold crown, a ghast tear as leather, wheat as an iron ingot, and the wooden and stone
buttons as a pair of blades. Each soldier now shows only what it carries.
* A soldier with a diamond or a diamond block came back from a save or a server restart with 20 health. It now
keeps the health it had.
* A soldier that takes an arrow apart now drops the arrow when it dies, instead of the flint and feather. Before,
one crafting of four arrows could come back as four flint and four feathers. A soldier only takes an arrow when
it has room for at least one of its parts.
* A soldier now carries gunpowder or a firework star, never both. The firework star already refused gunpowder, and
now gunpowder refuses a firework star.
* The disruptor now wears down when it clears only mounts.
