Claude Code: Rate Limited

Claude Code: Rate Limited is a gameplay mod for Minecraft Java Edition that introduces a new equipment resource system based on Claude Tokens.

Items enchanted with Claude Code receive their own token pool. Using the item consumes tokens, while reaching zero causes the item to become Rate Limited until it recovers.

The system adds an additional layer of equipment management without replacing Minecraft's normal survival progression.

Claude Code Enchantment

The mod adds three enchantment levels:

Claude Code I — 60 maximum tokens
Claude Code II (Pro) — 150 maximum tokens
Claude Code III (Max) — 350 maximum tokens

The enchantment supports:

Swords
Axes
Pickaxes
Shovels
Hoes
Armor
Bows
Crossbows
Shields

Every enchanted item stores and manages its tokens independently.

Token Usage

Tokens are consumed when enchanted equipment is used.

Examples include:

Normal attacks
Critical attacks
Tool usage
Using bows and crossbows
Blocking with shields
Taking damage while wearing enchanted armor

While an item has available Claude Tokens, it is protected from normal durability loss.

A warning appears when an item reaches 10% of its maximum token capacity.

Rate Limited

When an item's tokens reach zero:

The item becomes Rate Limited
Attacks and tool actions are blocked
Bows and crossbows cannot be used
Shields cannot block
Other item actions are disabled
The player may receive temporary negative effects

The item becomes usable again after recovering at least 10% of its maximum tokens.

This mechanic encourages players to rotate and manage their equipment instead of depending permanently on one powerful item.

Passive Recovery

Claude Code items gradually recover tokens over time.

Recovery times depend on the enchantment level:

Claude Code I: 20 minutes
Claude Code II (Pro): 15 minutes
Claude Code III (Max): 10 minutes

After an item becomes Rate Limited, passive recovery starts following a short delay.

Recovery continues while the item is stored in a player inventory or container.

Claude Terminal

The Claude Terminal is a custom block that restores Claude Code items significantly faster.

Place an enchanted item into the terminal and spend experience levels to begin recovery:

Level I: 3 experience levels
Level II: 7 experience levels
Level III: 15 experience levels

The terminal provides a custom interface displaying:

Current tokens
Maximum token capacity
Recovery progress
Recovery status

Terminal progress is saved across world reloads, server restarts, and chunk unloads.

Loot-Based Progression

Claude Code enchanted books cannot be obtained from the normal Enchanting Table, librarian trades, or fishing.

Instead, books can be discovered in structure loot, including:

Dungeons
Bastions
End Cities
Other selected structures

Higher enchantment levels are considerably rarer.

Books can be applied to compatible equipment through an anvil. Claude Code III cannot be created by combining two Claude Code II books.

Commands

The following administrative commands are available:

/claude_refill

Restores the Claude Code item held by the player.

/claude_refill all

Restores every Claude Code item in the player's inventory.

Multiplayer

Claude Code: Rate Limited supports multiplayer and dedicated servers.

Gameplay mechanics are synchronized server-side so token counts, recovery progress, equipment restrictions, and terminal interactions remain consistent for all players.
