📖 What is Clаtter? 📖
Clatter overhauls Minecraft's combat, focusing on adding unique items and changing enchantments. While the mod is primarily designed for combat, each item also has a non-combat use. The enchantment system is no longer simply a leveling tool, but a way to customize an item to suit your needs, changing its mechanics while remaining true to the vanilla concept. Players gain more options for developing their endgame playstyle while remaining within vanilla balance, even slightly shifting towards a less powerful state.

⚔️ Expanded Feature List ⚔️
1. New Items, Blocks and Mechanics
NEW PAINTINGS. 4 by 6 blocks, Insomnia – Sigma_VEB. 3 by 2 blocks, Conduit – Sigma_VEB
VOID. If a player casts a fishing rod into the void in any dimension, after 2-5 minutes they can catch a piece of Mondial Dust.
MONDIAL DUST. A crafting resource, can be placed in the world as a layered block (like snow). This block creates void particles around them, like phantoms, and is used to tame them.
BACKPORT. A completely identical port of the spears from the Mounts of Mayhem update. Zombies, husks, piglins, zombie piglins, and vindicators can spawn with spears.
2. Vanilla Mechanics Changes
SHIELD. A blue toughness bar appears under the shield. Each melee attack consumes a third of the bar; an empty bar puts the shield on cooldown for 4 seconds. An axe strike puts the shield on cooldown for 12 seconds and greatly reduces its durability.
ELYTRA. Using fireworks now launches player upwards instead of forwards.
PHANTOMS. Now attack any mob, lifting the target (if they aren't wearing leather pants) into the air and dropping them back down. While under the effect of Glow, they take triple damage. When tamed, they become immune to sunlight, fly around their master, and attack aggressors. When right-clicking, a tamed phantom will grab the player, allowing them to control its flight; however, right-clicking is blocked while flying.
GRINDSTONE. Repairing items by combining them in the inventory and workbench is no longer possible. You can now detach armor from its trimmings at the grindstone.
ANVIL. Repairing and enchanting an item at the anvil now requires a fixed amount of experience, regardless of the item itself. Additionally, armadillo scutes and turtle shells are now universal repair ingredients. Scutes restore 16 durability, while shells - 160.
ENDER CRYSTAL/BED. Now stacks to 8.
RESPAWN ANCHOR. The explosion from the anchor now deals less damage but inflicts significant knockback.
PROTECTION ENCHANTS. The maximum EPF limit has been increased to 40.
TOTEM OF UNDYING. Now has a 5-minute cooldown.
DURABILITY. Items with 0 durability become unusable(cannot be used, attacked, or equipped).
3. New Enchantments
- Rage. Can be applied to a shield. Accumulates damage, allowing you to dash in the direction you are facing by holding and releasing Shift.
- Waveater. Can be applied to a shield. Accumulates damage, allowing you to create a repulsion wave by holding and releasing Shift.
- Sacrament Protection. Can be applied to any armor, protects against magical and status damage.
- Hideness. Can be applied to a helmet. Reduces the detection radius by mobs and hides the wearer's nickname.
- Ballista. Can be applied to a crossbow. Allows you to equip certain items in your crossbow: ender pearl, amethyst cluster, prismarine crystals, and echo shard. Pearl launches ender pearls further than usual, amethyst fires shards at the landing site, prismarine fires shards immediately after firing, and echo shard fires a weak version of sonic charge.
- Frostrating. Can be applied to swords, tridents, and bows. Upon impact, inflicts frost on the target, similar to powdered snow. Upon death, an enemy leaves behind an ice statue of their form. When damaged, it explodes into icicles
- Airy. Can be applied to any piece of armor. Increases agility by reducing air friction.
- Unipolar. Can be applied to a mace. When striking a mob, it knocks player back in the direction opposite from where it's facing. Until the player lands, each hit deals the same damage as the first.
- Retreat. Can be applied to leggings. Allows you to accelerate while moving backwards. Allows you to sprint backwards.
- Tickle. Can be applied to a brush. Knocks an item out of target's hands and grants more scutes when used on the armadillo. If an item is knocked out of a mob's hands, its durability is randomized from 0 to 50%.
- Waft. Can be applied to a brush. When used, it knocks the player 3 blocks to the opposite direction and has a 2-second cooldown. At level 2, it has a 35-second cooldown and blows out fire and cobwebs.
- Grapple. Can be applied to a fishing rod, turning it into a grappling hook.
- Call. Can be applied to a goat horn, summoning a pet to the player previously link with Shift+RMB.
- Loudness. Can be applied to a goat horn, greatly increasing the sound's audibility range. Frightens nearby mobs; aggressive mobs have the fear duration halved.
- Cornucopia. Can be applied to a goat horn. Removes the ability to horn, allowing you to store any food item inside, like a bundle. Each food item takes up 1 slot, with 64 slots available for each level.
- Sting. Can be applied to a Trident. Grants the trident a slight homing effect and latches onto a mob after hitting it, dealing damage over time.
- Grip. Can be applied to a Trident. If it touches the ground, it latches onto it; right-clicking returns it. While grounded, it has a walkable hitbox.
- Palette. Can be applied to a bundle. Allows you to place blocks inside the bundle in the world. If the blocks inside are different, they are placed randomly.
- Quiver. Can be applied to a bundle. Allows you to use items inside the bundle as bow and crossbow ammo, making it your first choice.
- Balance. Can be applied to a bundle. Reduces the weight of items in the bundle by half per level. For example, tools in a standard bag take up 64 slots, while in a bag with Balance III, they take up 8 slots.
- Packaging. Can be applied to a bundle. Adds one stack to the maximum bundle capacity per level, reducing the maximum number of item types in the bundle by half per level. For example, a standard bundle has 1 stack and a maximum of 64 different items, while a bundle with Packaging III has only 4 stacks and 8 item types.
- Unbend. Can be applied to a spear. Removes the left-click attack, allowing you to charge the spear above your head instead. In this state, pressing block will accelerate the player in the xz direction but in the opposite y direction.
- Lance. Can be applied to a spear. Removes fatigue during a charged attack, allowing you to knock an enemy off their mount with a 100% chance with any attack. Spear damage now increases based on the wearer's, target's, and wearer/target's mounts protection, rather than their speed.
4. Reworked Vanilla Enchantments
- Sharpness only damages animals and villagers.
- Feather Falling or wearing leather boots prevents trampling of crops.
- Protection now only affects melee damage and has 2 EPF.
- Bane of Arthropods has been renamed to Bane of Invertebrates. This group includes arthropods, octopuses, glowing octopuses, slimes, and magma slimes. Now applies Poison to targets outside of the group.
- Arrows from the Multishot penetrate invulnerability frames.
- The Impaling now works on any mobs in water.
- The Loyalty now transports loot from slain mobs.
- Looting has been replaced with Fortune. Punch has been replaced with Knockback. Respiration has been removed and its effect has been added to the Aqua Affinity. Flame has been replaced with Fire Aspect, can be applied to a trident.
- Mending has been removed.
- The Density enchantment now quickly increases damage to ~60, and then almost freezes its increase.
- Infinity now has 3 levels, and a percentage chance to not consume an arrow, from 35 to 80.
- Wind Burst can be applied to a crossbow. With it, fired arrows create a wind charge upon impact.
- Channeling has 2 levels, and at the second, it can create lightning in rain.
- Riptide can use water bottles from the hotbar for its ability.
- Unbreaking, instead of a chance to not consume durability, expands the durability pool. Accordingly, repairing will require more items.
❔ F.A.Q. ❔
Q. Will there be a mod for version X?
A. Sooner or later, yes. We aim to implement most of the planned features first, and then move forward with the versions. We can't promise anything regarding backports. The maximum is 1.20.1.
Q. Hey, I found a bug!
A. If you've encountered a bug, you can report it in a separate section on our GitHub. Describe how to trigger the bug, what it looks like, and your logs, and we'll take it into consideration.
Q. Can I use this mod in my modpack/show in the video?
A. Yes, you can. As long as no one claims credit for the mod or violates the mod/Minecraft license, use is permitted.
Q. How can I suggest my idea?
A. You can leave your suggestion in the dedicated section on our GitHub page. If you think your idea is interesting and original, we'd be happy to consider it.
