Description
About the Mod
This mod is an extension for FTB Chunks designed to organize territory occupation in Minecraft servers. Its main function is to establish a mandatory minimum distance between claims from different players.
Core Functionality
In practice, if a player tries to claim a territory that is too close to another player's base, the mod will block the action and require them to find a more distant location. The exact distance required between bases is defined by the server administrators.
Purpose and Lag Prevention
The central goal of this limitation is to maintain server performance and stability. In heavily modded servers, bases usually contain various machines, systems, and entities that require significant processing power.
When multiple bases are built too close to each other, a single player passing through that region forces the server to load and process all those bases simultaneously. This results in overload and severe lag for all players online.
By enforcing territorial distancing, this mod ensures that:
Map loading is distributed more efficiently, as players will load only one base at a time.
The server does not suffer from processing spikes in a single region.
Each player has enough space to expand their builds in the future without hitting their neighbors' claims.
How it Works
The mechanics are focused on ease of use for both players and administrators:
Server-side only: The mod needs to be installed only on the server. Players connecting to it do not need to download or install this mod on their own computers.
Unified system: The block occurs the moment the player attempts to use the FTB Chunks map to claim the area. The mod identifies the attempt, measures the distance to the nearest base and, if it is less than allowed, cancels the action.
Simple configuration: The minimum distance value does not require separate, complex configuration files. It is integrated and can be adjusted directly in the native FTB Chunks settings by the administrators.
