CivCraft

A Technological based unlock system: research technologies that allow you to craft different items and blocks from Minecraft and currently progressive automation. This mod is more of a restriction, and encourages collecting resources and building up before automating properly. Mobs are scary now, and hunger is a real challenge early-game.

Installation is for a normal forge mod: download and install forge for minecraft 1.8, then drop this mod in the mods directory. This also requires AlexIILLib (http://minecraft.curseforge.com/mc-mods/229301-alexiillib)

I would recommend using NEI to look up recipes and the tech tree, and crafting the book of technology to show dependencies in a simple way.

Planned for next versions include a culture like system, that will allow for improving your player over time (think permanent potions of speed, haste, etc.), as well as boosts to the number of items received from crafting (say, crafting one more ladder than you can, or 5 sticks instead of 4, or smelting sand into 2 glass) or having more fulfilling food.
