Sky Lyrics + AFK Cinema

Your music, written across the sky.
Sky Lyrics detects the song you are currently playing – Spotify, a browser or any app that shows up in the Windows media controls – and writes its lyrics in big, glowing letters into the Minecraft sky, synced word by word. When you go AFK, AFK Cinema takes over the camera and films your character in smooth cinematic shots while the music keeps playing.

Sky Lyrics

• Live synced lyrics in the world – fetched automatically and shown word by word, timed to the song
• Three styles: Build up (every word appears the moment it is sung), Sing away (the whole line is there and sung words fade out) and Walk past (lines appear on the ground, alternating left and right of your path)
• Always readable – the text avoids water, mountains and walls, prefers open sky and shrinks to fit inside caves and small rooms
• Adapts to your movement – plans ahead when you sprint, and a dedicated Elytra mode places every line in your flight path so you reach it exactly when it ends
• Stays in sync – own playback clock, automatic drift correction, seeking support, automatic search for the matching lyrics version and a sync offset that is remembered per song

• Song intro – when a new song starts, the old text dissolves, a flash of light appears and the new title builds up letter by letter

Show Effects

• Beat sync – visible words pulse to the beat, sparks fly and shockwaves ripple across the ground during the chorus (the beat detection only listens to your music app, not to the game)
• Dissolving words – sung words break into particles, long held notes glow and grow
• Fireworks, lightning drops, light pillars, a note aura and shooting stars at the big moments of a song – colored by the album cover
• Weather and time of day by genre – metal or techno brings a thunderstorm at night, R&B a sunset, pop a sunny noon. Client-side only, the server is not affected. Can be turned off with one switch.

PvP Edit

• When you fight another player, the lyrics appear next to your opponent word by word, like a music edit
• Elytra & mace combat – the text stays with your opponent and readable when you dive from above, and "slams" with a shockwave on a mace smash hit

AFK Cinema

• After a configurable AFK time, the camera switches to calm cinematic shots of your character: orbits, drone and crane shots, landscape views and mob shots
• Letterbox bars, AFK timer and hidden HUD
• Chase cameras that follow you while flying with an Elytra
• The lyrics stay inside the frame and never cover your character
• Optional: show the sky lyrics only while AFK Cinema is running

Music Player Menu (press U)

• Now-playing card with cover art, play/pause, next/previous, seek bar and volume control
• Lyrics sync status and offset, all settings in one place and a "Reset to defaults" button
• Available in English and German – follows your Minecraft language setting

Default Keys

• U – open the menu
• J – toggle sky lyrics
• K – start cinematic shots now

More keys (play/pause, next, previous, lyrics earlier/later, toggle now-playing bar) can be assigned in Minecraft's controls settings.

Requirements

• Fabric Loader and Fabric API
• Minecraft 1.21.11 (Java 21) or Minecraft 26.3 (Java 25) – separate files
• Windows 10/11 for song detection, playback controls and volume. On other systems the mod loads, but no song is detected.
• Client-side only – works on any server and in singleplayer

How it works & Privacy

• To read the current song and control playback, the mod starts a small PowerShell script that is included in the mod. It uses the Windows media controls and the Windows volume mixer. Nothing is downloaded or installed.
• The song title and artist are sent to LRCLIB (lyrics), iTunes and Deezer (genre and cover art). No account, no login and no personal data are used.
• Lyrics are not included in the mod; they are loaded from LRCLIB while you play.
