I used a block of iron to repair a chipped anvil to a regular anvil. You can do the same with a broken anvil, to a chipped anvil.
It's a shapeless recipe so it can be made in whatever arrangement so long as you have the ingredients.
The wax is supposed to be kinda like glue or something.
