What's new

Added

  • Temporal Moss Grottos: small patches of Temporal Moss and occasional Timeless Mushrooms now generate on cave floors throughout the Chrono Dawn dimension on all supported Minecraft versions.
  • Glowing Pools: rare shallow pools edged with Temporal Moss now generate on cave floors throughout the Chrono Dawn dimension on all supported Minecraft versions. Submerged Lumen Polyps light them, so they stand out in dark caves.
  • Time Tyrant's Mail: the Temporal Rollback ability now works. When a hit would kill the wearer, there is a 20% chance to return to the health and position from about 3 seconds earlier instead, with a 60-second cooldown. Like the Totem of Undying, it does not save the wearer from /kill or the void.
  • Echoing Time Boots: the Temporal Echo ability now works. Sprinting while mobs are chasing the wearer leaves an afterimage behind, and those mobs target it for 3 seconds. The ability has a 15-second cooldown.
  • Entropy Crypt antechamber chests: the two chests in the room before the Entropy Keeper's boss room now hold supplies such as arrows, Fruit of Time, Clockstone, and iron, with a small chance of a Time Crystal. The hidden vault under the boss room still has the better loot. Only newly generated structures are affected.
  • Cracked Temporal Stone Bricks: a new building block, made by smelting Temporal Stone Bricks.

Changed

  • Temporal Moss spreading: natural and bonemeal-assisted spreading now affects only exposed dirt, grass, and natural stone. It no longer spreads through enclosed terrain or replaces ores and constructed stone blocks.
  • Structure materials: dungeons, landmarks, and the Time Keeper Village now use Chrono Dawn stonework, terrain, wood, and lighting blocks in place of the matching vanilla blocks. Layouts are unchanged. Only newly generated structures are affected. The Guardian Vault's hidden-room wall uses Cracked Temporal Stone Bricks, so it no longer stands out as plain gray stone.

Fixed

  • Clockwork Colossus after a server restart: unspawned Engine Rooms now retain their spawn registration across restarts on all supported Minecraft versions and loaders. Existing Minecraft 26.3 worlds can also rediscover an Engine Room from its DANGER!! signs when the earlier runtime-only registration was lost.
  • NeoForge 26.2.0.83 and newer: Chrono Dawn no longer crashes during registry initialization on these NeoForge builds. The NeoForge 26.2 build previously required exactly NeoForge 26.2.0.82 and now accepts any newer 26.2 build as well.
  • Newer Architectury API on NeoForge 26.2 and 26.3: Chrono Dawn previously required exactly Architectury API 21.1.9 on NeoForge 26.2 and 22.0.2 on NeoForge 26.3. It now also loads with newer Architectury API releases for those Minecraft versions.
  • Chrono Dawn plants in flower pots: on Minecraft 1.21.2 through 26.2, Time Blossoms, Chrono Dawn saplings, and Unstable Fungus can be placed in flower pots again. Emptying or pick-blocking an already potted one no longer causes an error.
  • Clockwork Colossus attack pose on Minecraft 1.20.1 and 1.21.1: attacks no longer leave its upper body increasingly tilted away from its legs. This affected Fabric and Forge on 1.20.1, and Fabric and NeoForge on 1.21.1.
  • Guardian Vault floor water: the shallow water pools on the Guardian Vault floor now generate on all supported Minecraft versions. Underground waterlogging prevention was removing their water during placement. Only newly generated Guardian Vaults are affected.
  • Structure water at chunk edges on Minecraft 26.2 and 26.3: intentional waterlogging in structures, such as the Guardian Vault floor pools, no longer drains where a structure crosses a chunk boundary. Vanilla 26.2 skips blocks outside the chunk being generated, which left those edge blocks dry. Only newly generated structures are affected.
  • Time Torch block names: wall-mounted Purple, Orange, and Pink Time Torches now report their matching item names instead of air to block information displays and item lookup actions.
  • Time Torch flame color: Purple, Orange, and Pink Time Torches now emit flame particles in their own colors instead of the vanilla torch flame.
  • Missing vanilla chest recipes on NeoForge 1.21.4: Chrono Dawn now requires NeoForge 21.4.4-beta or newer. Earlier NeoForge builds incorrectly treated patched chest ingredients as empty, which caused chest boats, chest minecarts, hoppers, shulker boxes, and trapped chests to be ignored.
  • Minecraft 1.21.10 and 1.21.11 pack metadata errors: Fabric and NeoForge no longer log errors while loading Chrono Dawn's resource and data pack metadata during startup or world creation. This fix does not change gameplay or require world or configuration migration.
  • Fabric startup refmap warning: Fabric no longer tries to load Mixin reference maps that current Architectury Loom does not generate. Loom already remaps Mixin targets directly in production JARs, so Mixin behavior is unchanged and the misleading startup warning is gone.
  • Chrono Melon on vanilla grass: on Minecraft 26.1.2, 26.2, and 26.3, Chrono Melon blocks can be placed on vanilla grass blocks and podzol again. Mycelium, moss blocks, and mud are also accepted now, matching the other Minecraft versions.
  • Plants on vanilla grass: on Minecraft 26.1.2, 26.2, and 26.3, Temporal Root, Time Blossoms, Temporal Fern, Temporal Grass, Faded Temporal Grass, and Timeless Mushroom can now be planted on vanilla grass blocks, as on the other Minecraft versions.
  • Chrono Dawn day and night out of sync: on Minecraft 26.1.2, 26.2, and 26.3, the Chrono Dawn sky followed the Overworld's time while mob spawning followed Chrono Dawn's own time. Mobs could spawn and then burn under a sky that looked like daytime. The sky, sunlight, monster burning, and moon phase now all follow Chrono Dawn's time.
  • Untranslated Chrono Dawn item tags: the item tags for custom mob food, Ticking Sheep shears, Chrono Bovine milking buckets, grass seed replacement, and portal ignition and stabilization items now have English and Japanese names. Recipe viewers show these names instead of raw tag IDs. On Minecraft 1.21.1 and newer, Fabric also no longer logs an untranslated item tag warning for them in development environments.
  • Temporal Phantom after a server restart: a Phantom Catacombs boss room now keeps its Temporal Phantom across restarts. Before, a restart lost track of the room, so the Phantom never appeared in the maze-connected room, and a second boss room was added as a separate hidden chamber where it spawned instead. Phantom Catacombs that were already handled in an earlier version get no further chambers, but none of their boss rooms will spawn the Phantom. If you have not defeated it yet, find a Phantom Catacombs you have not visited before. Those work normally.
