Preview container contents with a dynamic in-world overlay

Chest Preview is a client-side mod that lets you quickly inspect chests and other containers without opening an inventory screen.

The overlay appears directly in the world, updates in real time, and features smooth animations and customization options.

Multiplayer support

The mod works on multiplayer servers and does not require server-side installation.

When previewing a chest, other players may briefly see its opening animation or hear the interaction sound. Chest Preview hides these effects locally to provide a smoother experience.

Known limitations

• Some resource packs that replace container GUI textures may display incorrectly.
• Compatibility issues may occur with mods that significantly change container interactions.
