Chatty Villagers
Villagers now talk!
This mod makes villagers react to the world around them with floating chatboxes above their heads. No text-to-speech, no AI models at runtime — just hundreds of hardcoded dialogue lines that play based on what the player does.
Features
- Floating chatboxes (Text Display entities) appear above villagers’ heads
- Messages stay for 5 seconds (short lines) or 10 seconds (longer lines)
- Villagers react to many player actions, including:
- Flying in creative mode near them
- Breaking blocks nearby
- Interacting / trying to trade (special lines for baby villagers)
- Simply being near them
- Random idle chatter and simple conversations between villagers
- 7600+ unique lines!
- Cooldown system so they don’t spam messages
