Challenge Craft 1.1.0 New: Timer customisation
The run timer used to sit exactly where Minecraft draws the name of the item you're holding, and there was nothing you could do about it. Now everything about it is yours.
Open Video Settings → Challenge Timer…
Position — drag the timer straight to where you want it in the live preview, or use the sliders. Sliders read in pixels, and arrow keys nudge one pixel at a time. Anchor — left, centre or right, so the clock doesn't shift around when it rolls past an hour. Size — 0.5× to 4×. Colour — ten presets, or dial in your own with hue, saturation and brightness. Style — pulse on/off, shine sweep on/off, edge (none / shadow / full outline), optional backing panel with adjustable opacity. Format — automatic, always show hours, or tenths of a second for speedrunners.
The preview is the actual HUD renderer, not a mock-up, so what you drag around is exactly what you get in game. It also draws the held-item name at Minecraft's real position — including the different offset used in creative mode — so you can check the clearance without leaving the menu.
Settings are saved per installation in config/challengecraft_timer.json. Reset puts everything back to stock.
The default position now places itself. Instead of a fixed spot that only works at one GUI scale, the timer sits just above the held-item name at whatever scale you play at. The moment you move it yourself, your position takes over. "Auto-place above item name" hands it back.
Daily Challenge The rotation grew from 12 to 25 entries — a cycle of over three weeks. Every seed is now measured, not borrowed. Seed lists on the web are overwhelmingly written for older versions and copied forward, and world generation changes between versions invalidate them. Each seed in the rotation was generated and inspected against 26.2's actual world generator: spawn biome, terrain height range, water coverage, biome variety, and the distance to 19 structure types. Some of what turned up: a trial chamber directly under spawn, a desert start with no trees in reach, an ancient city 107 blocks out, the closest woodland mansion of the whole sweep, a frozen peaks spawn, and a zombie village 80 blocks from spawn. Each daily's ruleset is chosen to argue with its terrain — no crafting table in a desert, only-downwards on the biggest mountains, a village in plain sight that you may not trade with. The daily now sits at the top of the /challenges screen as the same card you see in the main menu. Picking it clears and locks the challenge list below; picking challenges below releases it. The world-creation Challenges tab now shows that the daily is selected, so it's clear what you're getting even at level 1 when the rest of the list looks locked. Hovering any challenge icon on the daily card names it, with its description — so you know what you're signing up for before you create the world. Difficulty rating and XP payout are now correct for dailies. They previously read 0.00 because the cards below are cleared on purpose. Dailies record their own completion time and no longer set personal bests for the individual challenges they contain — a daily hands you a ruleset you didn't choose. Run summary and sharing Copying the summary card to the clipboard now actually works. Minecraft disables AWT before any mod loads, which silently blocked every attempt. It's now settled early enough to work, with the operating system's own clipboard as a fallback. Share text includes #ChallengeCraft #Minecraft. Saving the card reports "saved" immediately and updates to "saved and copied" when the copy completes, instead of freezing the screen. Fixes Saving challenges could kick you out of the world. A malformed packet threw a decoder error on the server; Save and Save & Restart both hit it. Fixed. Dice Movement: the slowdown effect is gone entirely, your field of view no longer shrinks while movement is locked, and a roll whose die goes missing no longer soft-locks — just roll again. Damage = Border: dying to /kill no longer corrupts the world border permanently. Existing damaged saves repair themselves on load. Timer settings buttons could be covered by the preview, blanking their labels. Dragging a slider in the timer settings stuttered because the config file was written on every frame. Compatibility Sodium replaces the vanilla Video Settings screen with its own, which hid the timer entry for anyone running it. There's now a fallback that finds the screen regardless of who wrote it. Tested against Sodium 0.9.1. Iris: the Dice reach ring no longer produces shader errors with a pack loaded. Notes for existing players The daily rotation was re-seeded and extended, so which daily appears on which date has changed, and daily times recorded before this update refer to different worlds. Per-challenge personal bests are untouched. If you already had timer settings, the position resets to automatic placement once. Drag it or move a slider to take it over again — everything else you set is kept.
