Celestisynth
This is the official 1.21.1 NeoForge version of Celestisynth, based on Celestisynth 1.20.1-1.3.4.
Every weapon in Celestisynth has its own animation set, its own passives, and its own skills bound to right-click.
Requires GeckoLib and PlayerAnimator. Celestisynth is not client-side, so it has to be installed on the server as well.
The original mod can be found here!
Changes
- Ported the mod to Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge
- Fixed a flickering bug affecting items and weapons during certain animations
- Added additional config options, including options for configuring the Kres images
- Adjusted animation timings to sync better with attacks

About This Project
The original stopped at 1.20.1 Forge. This project exists to keep the weapons playable on newer Minecraft versions, and to fix bugs, crashes, and gameplay issues found along the way. It is not an official continuation and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the original authors.

Getting started
Everything starts with an amethyst shard.
- Celestial Core. Four amethyst shards in a diamond around a Heart of the Sea, a Nether Star, or an End Crystal.
- Heated Celestial Core. Smelt or blast the core. Thirty seconds in a furnace. If you ever want a plain core back, add four more amethyst shards around a heated one.
- Supernal Netherite Ingot. Smithing table, netherite upgrade template, a netherite ingot, and either a ghast tear or a Celestial Core.
- Celestial Netherite Ingot. Smelt or blast the supernal ingot. Fifty seconds, so start it early.
- Starlit Factory. The forge itself.

Using the Starlit Factory
Six material slots, a fuel slot, an output slot. The six materials split into three core inputs and three supporting inputs, and the positions matter. Put one item in the wrong slot and nothing happens.
Fuel is separate from the recipe.
| Fuel | Energy |
|---|---|
| Amethyst Shard | 5 |
| Celestial Core | 105 |
| Heated Celestial Core | 120 |
Energy caps at 1000. Each item takes five seconds to burn, and forging drains one energy per tick. A weapon with an 800 tick forge time needs 800 energy banked.

Where the materials come from
Solar Crystal generates in solar craters in the Nether, roughly once every 85 chunks, on the surface. It also shows up in nether fortress, ruined portal, and bastion chests. Diamond pickaxe or better.
Lunar Stone generates in lunar craters underground in the Overworld, about once every 17 chunks, anywhere from bedrock up to y30. Ancient city and abandoned mineshaft chests have it too. Diamond pickaxe.
Lunar Scrap comes from smelting Lunar Stone.
Zephyr Deposit sits high in mountain biomes, y100 to y320, about once every 7 chunks. Easily the most common of the four and by far the slowest to break.
Wintereis generates as spikes in cold Overworld biomes, underground, bedrock up to y60. Silk touch gets you the block. Without it, each one drops 2 to 4 Wintereis Shards.
Eyebomination is a shapeless craft: four Eyes of Ender and a blaze powder.
Starstruck Scrap and Starstruck Feather both come out of a brewing stand. Phantom Membrane goes in the bottle slots, then Lunar Scrap on top gives you the scrap, or a plain feather gives you the feather. It's a strange place to hide a recipe and I'd probably use the factory if I were starting over, but it's been that way since the first release.
Crimson Piece drops from Traversers, up to two at a time, and only when a player lands the kill. Looting helps.

The weapons
The seven melee weapons all share the Celestial tier: 2550 durability, mining speed 9, enchantability 15, repaired with a Heated Celestial Core. Every weapon in the mod is fire resistant as an item, so dropping one in lava is survivable.
Right-click is the skill button. Shift plus right-click is the second skill. Some have more.

Solaris
Attack damage 8, attack speed 1.5. Forge time 300.
Core inputs: Solar Crystal, Solar Crystal, Supernal Netherite Ingot. Supporting inputs: Iron Sword, Fire Charge, Blaze Rod.
The cheapest weapon to reach and the one I'd hand a new player. Permanent fire immunity while you hold it, which by itself makes the Nether a much quieter place.
Ember's Blessing is that fire immunity, plus normal hits set targets alight. Solar Bomb Formation builds up to five orbiting bombs while you hold right-click, and hitting something redirects one into it.
| Skill | Trigger | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Spinning Flames: Full Round | Right-click | Spin in place, damaging and burning everything close |
| Spinning Flames: Soul Straight Dash | Shift + right-click | Dash forward, hitting and igniting whatever you pass through |

Crescentia
Attack damage 9, attack speed 1.3. Forge time 500.
Core inputs: Lunar Scrap, Lunar Scrap, Supernal Netherite Ingot. Supporting inputs: Trident, Iron Ingot, Iron Ingot.
Yes, it eats a trident.
Heavy-Hitter gives you a level of resistance while it's in hand and slows anything you hit.
| Skill | Trigger | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Lunar Celebration Barrage | Right-click | A flurry of strikes on everything nearby, with fireworks |
| Eye of the Dragon | Shift + right-click | Dragon-shaped projectiles that drag enemies along and keep slashing |

Breezebreaker
Attack damage 6, attack speed 2.0. Forge time 700.
Core inputs: Zephyr Deposit, Zephyr Deposit, Supernal Netherite Ingot. Supporting inputs: Ghast Tear, Gold Ingot, Iron Ingot.
The mobility weapon, and the one with the sharpest tradeoff in the mod. Holding it turns every jump into a huge one with no fall damage and no cooldown, which is the most fun I've had moving around in Minecraft. It also means you take 2.3 times damage from everything. One skeleton arrow will explain the deal better than I can.
Agile is the jump, the fall immunity, and that damage multiplier. Benevolent Soul toggles every 15 skill casts, giving speed and half cooldowns for eight seconds while it's up.
Five skills, more than anything else here:
| Skill | Trigger | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Galestorm | Right-click | A wind slash that hits hard |
| Dual Galestorm | Hold right-click 0.5s | Galestorm twice back to back |
| Full-Force Whirlwind Extravagance | Shift + right-click | A tornado that shreds anything crossing its path |
| Roar of the Wind | Right-click while sprinting | Dash forward and hit the first thing you reach |
| Zephyr's Death Wheel | Right-click in mid-air | A vertical wheel of wind around you |

Poltergeist
Attack damage 11, attack speed 0.9. Forge time 700.
Core inputs: Eyebomination, Eyebomination, Supernal Netherite Ingot. Supporting inputs: Anvil, Anvil, Iron Axe.
Slow and enormous. It's an axe, so it does axe things to shields.
Phantom Tag marks everything your skills touch. Kill something carrying a tag and it becomes an Aberrant that pulls nearby mobs in for five seconds, which is how you line up the next swing.
| Skill | Trigger | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Cosmic Steel Annihilation | Right-click | Ground smash, heavy burst damage. Ten strikes in a row unlocks Aberrant Form, and the next hit mutates an Aberrant out of the ground. Killing something during Aberrant Form, or striking while airborne, resets the cooldown instantly |
| Barrier Call | Shift + right-click | A barrier that shatters incoming projectiles and throws you backwards |
Chaining that cooldown reset is the entire skill ceiling on this weapon. Done properly you barely stop swinging.

Aquaflora
Attack damage 3, attack speed 2.9. Forge time 400.
Core inputs: any flower, Lily Pad, Supernal Netherite Ingot. Supporting inputs: Pearlescent Froglight, Ochre Froglight, Verdant Froglight.
The lowest raw damage in the mod by a mile, and it doesn't matter, because it hits twenty times.
Swipethrough gives three seconds of speed on every skill cast. The weapon runs in two states and the skill set swaps between them — that's the Blooming State on the right.
| Skill | Trigger | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Petal Pierces | Right-click | Attacks that punch through a whole row of entities |
| Blasting Off Together | Shift + right-click | Head-butt a group away and enter Blooming State |
| Exorbitant Slashing Frenzy | Right-click in Blooming State | You're immune to damage while it runs, landing up to 20 hits. Dual wield two Aquafloras and it goes past 40, at lower damage each |
| Flowers Away | Shift + right-click in Blooming State | Dash backwards, leaving a flower that drags mobs toward it. Ends Blooming State |
If nothing is in range the frenzy tells you so rather than firing into empty air.

Rainfall Serenity
A bow, not a melee weapon. 1200 durability. Forge time 825.
Core inputs: Starstruck Scrap, Bow, Celestial Netherite Ingot. Supporting inputs: Starstruck Feather, Starstruck Feather, Starstruck Scrap.
It takes crossbow enchantments, which catches people out. Multishot, Piercing, and Quick Charge all apply. Piercing slows your draw, Quick Charge speeds it up, so pick a direction.
| Skill | Trigger | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Eons, and Eons Through the Sky | Fully charged shot | A laser that pierces everything and leaves a Quasar Mark for five seconds. Marked targets pull laser fire from nearby entities |
| Quasar Rainfall | Hit a marked target | A portal opens overhead and rains lasers around them |
| True Serenity | Shift + right-click | Heavy speed boost and True Invisibility for five seconds |
| Deployment | Drop it onto solid ground | The bow becomes a turret and shoots anything that comes near |
The turret is the sleeper feature. Unbreaking raises its health, and it keeps whatever enchantments the bow was carrying.

Frostbound
Attack damage 10, attack speed 1.3. Forge time 400.
Core inputs: Wintereis Shard, Diamond Hoe, Supernal Netherite Ingot. Supporting inputs: Wintereis Shard, Blue Ice, Packed Ice.
The control weapon. Frostbound stacks sap strength and speed, so anything you keep hitting gets steadily less dangerous.
Whispering Cold applies that on every hit. Icicle Array fires stored Frostbound Shards at nearby targets while you hold right-click, freezing them for a few seconds.
| Skill | Trigger | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Dance of the Seven-Thousand Snowflakes | Right-click | A movement sequence that hits everything nearby repeatedly and stacks frostbound |
| Calamity Frost Cast | Shift + right-click | Raises up to five large ice formations in front of you |

Keres
Attack damage 11, attack speed 1.1. Forge time 800.
Core inputs: Crimson Piece, Crimson Piece, Celestial Netherite Ingot. Supporting inputs: Netherite Ingot, Nether Wart Block, Netherite Ingot.
The endgame weapon, and the only one that charges you to use it. Casting drains 1.5 health every few seconds. Landing a skill gives some of it back.
Hellbane Sequence triggers after five hits in a row, raising lifesteal and throwing out homing shadow projectiles. Consumption is the health drain. Cursebane Affliction cuts a target's healing hard for five seconds whenever a skill connects.
| Skill | Trigger | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Blood-Red Severity | Right-click | Armor-piercing slash waves. More consumed blood, more waves |
| Dreadful Sorrow | Shift + right-click | Leap to a spot and shockwave the area. More blood, further leap |
| Carnage Incarnate | Hold right-click 10s | A giant rend that erases blocks and ignores armor entirely |
Carnage Incarnate will take a bite out of your base. Point it somewhere you don't care about.

Armor
Two sets, both crafted in a normal grid using the block plus a gold block, in the usual armor shapes. Solar Crystal blocks for one, Lunar Stone blocks for the other.
Solar Crystal armor bursts a ring of flame when you take damage, hurting and igniting anything close. Each piece raises the damage and the burn duration.
Lunar Stone armor has a one in five chance to cut incoming damage sharply. Each piece raises how much it cuts.
Both sets are fire resistant as items and add a little Celestial Weapon Damage and Celestial Weapon Damage Reduction, the mod's two custom attributes.

Everything else
Celestial Monolith spawns naturally in nether fortresses. In the Overworld it picks up an Aqua rune near ocean biomes, and in a nether fortress it gets a Blood rune. Blood rune monoliths attack with spikes. You can place your own using the Blank Celestial Monolith or Blood Rune Celestial Monolith items.
Traverser is a fast, cautious mob that drops Crimson Pieces. There's a spawn egg in the creative tab.
Pulsation is the mod's enchantment. Weapons only, up to level 3, with a random chance on hit to fire an extra pulse that knocks back and adds damage.
Hell Bane and Curse Bane are the two mob effects. One raises regeneration on the entity it's applied to, the other cuts it. Keres applies Curse Bane.

Mod compatibility
JEI gets its own category for Starlit Factory recipes.
Better Combat, Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks, and Apothic Attributes are supported when installed. With Iron's Spells you also get the Celestial Genesis, a spellbook that boosts Celestial Weapon Damage, cooldown reduction, and mana regen.

Notes
Config lives in config/celestisynth/. The client file has toggles for whether the animation system shows your arms in first person, which matters if you run a first person model mod.
If a weapon animation ever gets stuck, /celestisynth animation clear resets it.

The maintained version is 1.21.1 NeoForge.
- Requires: GeckoLib, PlayerAnimator
- Optional: JEI, Better Combat, Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks, Apothic Attributes
Install it on the client and the server. Celestisynth is not client-side.

Q: Do I need this on the server?
Yes. Celestisynth adds items, blocks, mobs and worldgen, so it has to be on both sides. GeckoLib and PlayerAnimator go on both sides too.
Q: Is this the original Celestisynth?
No. This is a port of AquTheSeal's mod to newer Minecraft versions, maintained separately. The original is still the original — go give it a look here.
Q: A weapon animation is stuck on my character.
Run /celestisynth animation clear. That resets the animation state without touching anything else.
Q: My weapon isn't forging.
Two things to check. The six material slots split into three core inputs and three supporting inputs, and the positions matter. One item in the wrong slot and nothing happens. Second, the factory needs enough banked energy to cover the whole forge time, so feed it Heated Celestial Cores rather than amethyst shards.
Q: Why can't I find Solar Crystal / Lunar Stone?
They're in craters, not veins. Solar craters sit on the surface in the Nether, roughly one per 85 chunks. Lunar craters are underground in the Overworld below y30, roughly one per 17 chunks. Both also generate in structure chests.
Q: Aren't these weapons overpowered?
Yes. That's the mod.
Q: Can I use your mod in a modpack?
Yes, feel free to include it.
