Create TNT replaces Minecraft's vanilla TNT explosions with high-explosive artillery-style blasts inspired by Create Big Cannons, featuring thick smoke plumes, expanding blast waves, and visceral camera shake.
📦 Installation
- Install the appropriate mod loader (Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge) for your Minecraft version.
- Place
createtnt-<version>.jarinto your.minecraft/modsfolder. - Launch the game and detonate some TNT!
This mod requires both client and server for full functionality on most versions. The 1.8.9 build is client-side only and can be used on vanilla servers.
✨ Features
- Massive smoke plumes — billowing artillery-style smoke clouds that rise and expand using particle physics from Create Big Cannons
- Blast wave effect — visible shockwave that expands outward from the detonation point
- Camera shake — spring-damper physics-based screen shake with quadratic distance falloff
- Delayed boom sound — explosion audio travels at the speed of sound, reaching you after the blast wave
- Realistic explosion physics — energy-transfer block destruction with separate block/entity damage radii
- Chain TNT detonation — adjacent TNT primed from the blast, creating spectacular chain reactions
- Animated smoke textures — 10-frame sprite animation for authentic shell explosion look

❓ FAQ
Does this need to be installed on the server?
Most versions require both sides for the full enhanced explosion physics. The 1.8.9 build is client-side only and works on vanilla servers by intercepting explosion packets.
Is this compatible with other explosion mods?
This mod replaces vanilla TNT explosion handling. Compatibility with mods that also modify explosions may vary.
Can I use this in my modpack?
Yes! You are free to include this mod in any Modrinth or CurseForge-hosted modpack.
Does this change block destruction mechanics?
Yes — the server-side versions use energy-transfer block destruction instead of vanilla's spherical blast, creating more realistic craters.
I found a bug, where do I report it?
Report issues on the [GitHub issue tracker](https://github.com/Sekai0NI0itamio/ModItamio/issues?q=is:issue label:createtnt). Please include your Minecraft version, modloader, mod version, and a crash log if applicable.
