Supported Versions
- 1.12.2
- 1.12.1
Additions / Changes / Fixes:
- A way to spawn giant pillars underground
- Runs after caves are generated, just like stalactites / stalagmites.
- Only "pillarState" needs to be specified; other parameters have defaults.
- Supports the following parameters:
- "pillarState"
- "stairBlock"
- "frequency"
- "minHeight"
- "maxHeight"
- "minLength"
- "maxLength"
- If a "stairBlock" is specified, it will be used to randomly place trims around the top and bottom of the pillar. See the included screenshots below.
- New parameters for various properties
- "blockFillers"
- "spawnInPatches"
- "patchSpacing"
- "patchScale"
- "largeStalactites" and "largeStalagmites"
- "patchSpacing"
- "patchScale"
- A few others that I may have forgotten to write down. Woops.
- "blockFillers"
- A dedicated way to spawn NBT structures.
- Super WIP at the moment. Not gonna go into details, for that reason.
- If you'd like to go ahead and start experimenting with this, take a look at the new underground_forest.json preset.
- Some of the features listed there currently may or may not have no effect.
- Likewise, vanilla.json still has not been updated.
- Example presets are now written to /cavegenerator/example_presets/ every time the game is loaded. This way, users can always be sure they have the most current example files.
- A new example preset, underground_forest.json
- I would consider this a fairly large preset. It uses a bunch of features all at once. It may be best to disable the vanilla spawning of different stone variants in the config file, as that will noticeably improve performance. Giant stone clusters will be spawned instead.
- A new, possibly temporary command: /testcaves.
- This is literally shorthand for typing "/gamemode 3" and "/effect @p 16 99999"
- Fixes:
- Fixed vanilla.json no longer getting written to the disk since 0.9.
- Fixed /reloadcaves breaking upon loading invalid presets. It will now print the error message for you in-game to help you diagnose the issue, so you don't need to restart the game.
- It's late. Don't remember everything.
- Rearranged a million lines. Be very afraid.

Not pictured here: more giant fossils and cheap, hanging creeper spawners.
