Cattails

Adds cattails that spawn in dense clumps along rivers, swamps and ponds. They grow up to 4 blocks tall on grass and sand, even in shallow water, change color by biome, grow over time, and 6 make 1 paper.

Cattails is a Fabric mod for Minecraft Java 26.1.2 and 26.2, made with MCreator. It adds the cattail (Typha), the marsh plant that grows along the water’s edge, with its brown, sausage-shaped seed head. Requires Fabric API.

The plant

  • Grows 1 to 4 blocks tall, with a base, stems and the brown seed head on top. Each block changes its look on its own to match the plant’s height.
  • Can grow in shallow water and keeps the water in its block, like kelp.
  • You can walk through it, and flowing water won’t break it.

Where it grows

  • Only on grass blocks and sand, with water no more than 2 blocks away.
  • In the wild, it spawns in dense clumps along rivers, swamps and small ponds, but not in oceans or on beaches.
  • Wild cattails are 2 to 4 blocks tall.
  • If the ground under a plant is changed, the plant eventually dies.

Biome colors

  • 5 shades, from darkest (dark forest, swamp, mangrove) to brightest (savanna, desert, badlands).
  • The green blends grass, wheat and dirt tones, which gives a natural olive look.

Placing and growing

  • Place one block at a time, then stack more on top to make it taller, up to 4 blocks.
  • It grows on its own over time, at about the same speed as sugar cane, as long as there is water near its base.
  • Each broken block drops 1 cattail, and any blocks above it break too.

Uses

  • 6 cattails make 1 paper, in two rows of 3 on a crafting table.
  • It can be composted and it burns.
  • Found in the “Natural Blocks” creative tab, after sugar cane.

Choose your world size when creating a world: Small, Medium, Huge or Gigantic. A border centered on 0,0 limits the map, and nothing generates past it: no land, no structures, just void. The Nether is scaled 1/8, so portals stay inside.

    Stockade villages

Villages in Minecraft are open to anything that wanders in. Stockades gives larger villages a defensive wall that looks like the villagers built it themselves. Each wall follows its village and its ground, and is built from materials of its biome.

    Florist Villager

Adds a florist-beekeeper villager to Plains and Taiga villages: he takes the job from a composter with a beehive nearby, wears a straw beekeeper mask, trades flowers and honey, and lives in his own vanilla-style house with a flower garden and beehives.
