What's new
Changelog: Live Bidding (v1.6.0 ➔ v1.7.0)
🌟 Overview
Between version 1.6.0 (initial release on Modrinth) and 1.7.0, major streaming additions were introduced — including the Live Show suite, Overtime extensions, Auction Playlists, and Stream Summaries — alongside hardened spoof protection, server payment calibration, and a substantial performance boost through texture caching.
🚀 Version 1.7.0
★ Live Show & Stream Excitement (/bidding show / star icon)
- Overtime on late bids (optional: Off · 10 · 15 · 20 · 30 s):
- If someone takes the lead during the closing seconds, the countdown automatically resets to the configured overtime window.
- Displays "OVERTIME · X s left" across the HUD, Live Menu, and OBS overlay.
- The strict countdown cutoff at 00:00 remains the default.
- Countdown Show (Auction climax):
- Visual and audio countdown with a bell toll at 10, 5, and 2 seconds: "GOING ONCE! · GOING TWICE! · LAST CALL!" (triggered once a high bid is placed).
- Prominently displayed in the HUD, Live Menu, and OBS overlay.
- Auction Playlist (
/bidding playlist startor Setup → ▶▶ Playlist):- Automatically cycles through all prepared auction slots one after another.
- Configurable intermission (default 1:30 min) for winner celebrations, item handovers, or casino games.
- The HUD and OBS overlay display "Next auction in 0:45" alongside the upcoming item icon.
- Can be paused, skipped to the next item immediately, or cancelled at any time without sending chat messages.
- Stream Summary (
/bidding summary):- Full breakdown of session revenue, auction count, total bids, unique bidders, top sale, top supporters, and itemized sales.
- Show on stream: Displays a full-screen summary card on the OBS overlay for 30 seconds.
- Copy: Copies the formatted summary directly to your clipboard (ready to paste into Discord).
⚡ Performance & Engine Optimization
- Massive CPU draw time reduction per frame:
- Live Menu: 6,068 µs ➔ 359 µs (cost per frame reduced from 7.9 ms to 0.9 ms; test rig went from ~100 to 320 FPS).
- HUD "Board": 537 µs ➔ 164 µs
- HUD "Wide": 449 µs ➔ 98 µs
- HUD "Tall": 484 µs ➔ 107 µs
- Setup Screen: 2,189 µs ➔ 307 µs
- Settings: 683 µs ➔ 131 µs
- Texture Caching:
- Panels, borders, glows, circles, and gradients are now precomputed and cached as single textures rather than rendered from hundreds of tiny individual rectangles every frame.
🎨 Visual & UI Enhancements
- Smooth anti-aliased circles, ranks, and medals.
- Softer color gradients and gentle ambient light spot beneath the podium.
- Drop shadow under the HUD elements for crisp contrast against bright skyboxes and terrain.
📡 OBS & Web Overlay
- Zero-latency real-time updates: The browser overlay maintains a persistent connection with the game to reflect new bids instantaneously (replacing the previous 250 ms polling cycle).
- Legacy browser sources can still force polling mode using
.../overlay?poll=1.
🔌 Add-on API
- Integration points for add-ons (such as Live Bidding: Casino 1.3.0):
- Register custom sections in the Stream Summary.
- Trigger immediate overlay refreshes.
- Query the scheduled start time of the next playlist auction.
🛡️ Version 1.6.3 (Intermediate Release)
- Hardened Spoof & Fraud Protection:
- Death, join, advancement messages, private whispers, and named entities/items (e.g., a wolf named "Steve has paid you $5,000") are completely ignored.
- Text trailing the monetary amount cannot continue the sentence (balance notifications remain accepted).
- Rejects lines where other online player names appear ahead of the server's payment format.
- Server Payment Calibration (
/bidding calibrate):- Learn a server's custom payment syntax directly via a test payment or pick from predefined presets (EssentialsX EN/DE, Citybuild).
- Foundation: Laid the compatibility groundwork for Live Bidding: Casino 1.1.0.
